OT - Rogers Stadium

Post#1 » by pharring » Fri Jul 4, 2025 12:56 pm

Anyone been yet? Difficult to sort through the facts from the clickbait videos in terms of whether the new stadium works (or will work) as a new venue.

Also, is it true that in some languages, the words for "Stadium" and "Centre" are either the same or so similar that fans are still ending up at the doors to Rogers Centre instead of up at Rogers Stadium? And is Rogers so full of itself that everything it sponsors has to be named the same way?

(though in fairness, Scotiabank isn't much different...Arena, Centre, Place, etc.)

It was called the Skydome.
It is the Skydome.
It will always be the Skydome.

Keep it simple

Some fans who attended a concert by K-pop group Stray Kids on Sunday evening said it took up to two hours to exit the stadium, as the venue and transit services from Downsview Park seemed ill-equipped to handle the throngs of people coming in and out of the show.
