Scotiabank Arena Renovation Question

Post#1 » by WC NBA Fan » Mon Aug 4, 2025 8:23 pm

I know that Scotiabank Arena is undergoing renovations in phases. My question is this. Is the whole project completed? Or do they still have phases to go?

I've checked the official site and they're very vague about it

I also know that the WNBA team starts next summer so you don't really have any more time aside from this month and next before Raps and Leafs start up because next summer will be taken up by the WNBA

Any info would be appreciated

Don't think WNBA team will be playing there. Could be wrong but I recall it being somewhere else.

WNBA will be playing at the Coca-Cola collesium on exhibition / they did some renovations to accommodate an WNBA team, hopefully they do a bigger renovation in the future

From what I saw in the dark at the end of June for a member only draft party, they seem to be done all the 100 level concourse renos though I couldn't see what they were as we were directed to go straight onto the court for the party. They aren't planning anything else other than what they have on their reimagination website. Though at the party, we did get to go into the Raptors locker room and they said they were under going renovations for the locker rooms too.

I walk through the 300 level daily to get to my office as that is part of the Path and I can see they'll still doing renovations to the west side lobby area, looks like they added a brand new Sportsnet studio for pre/post game on that side as well

Much of that comes down to space — there just isn’t any more in the “maxed out” building, says Don Boyle, chief executive of Exhibition Place, the City of Toronto agency that manages it and other city-owned buildings on the grounds. (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment has operated the arena since 2005 when its AHL team, the Toronto Marlies, moved in.)

Still, some changes are coming. The biggest is a dedicated locker room for the Tempo. The Sceptres use the Marlies’ visitors dressing room, but the WNBA is decades farther down the professional sports path and being able to invest in building their own player space was an important factor in choosing the location, said Tempo president Teresa Resch.

At the arena now. 100 level looks done but there is still lots of work to be done at the 300 level and those upper boxes.

The combination of both restrooms into a large gender neutral bathroom on the back side was a wonderful addition. I guess they needed to raise our ticket prices to help fund some of the much needed changes.

My understanding is a lot of the renovations were to the club levels under the seats and the restaurants. I guess there is only so much that you can do that is structural and in the actual playing bowl.

Thanks to everyone who responded to the thread. This helps. I renewed my passport and want to take in a Raps game but wanted to wait until the arena is completely renovated or at least the places that are accessible to the fans meaning if they still have to upgrade locker rooms and things like that then I don't really care because fans don't have access to that
