I know there are quite a few combat sports fans on here. I’ve been looking forward to this fight for awhile. Think it’s one of the most intriguing fights in a long time. Chimaev has looked dominant recently but showed some holes vs Usman and Burns. That was at WW though. He’s been a different fighter at MW. I can’t see him mauling DDP and if it goes into the later rounds, I wonder if Chimaev fades and DDP starts to take over. Can’t wait for it.

Oh wow that’s this weekend! Dricus has become one of my favourite fighters since he humbled Strickland who’s living off of beating a washed up Izzy but still runs his mouth.

I think Chimaev wins since you can’t beat these super wrestlers but if it goes into the 3rd round he will likely gas and that’s where Dricus has a chance.

I'm just hoping Chimaev makes weight and doesnt pull out for whatever reason. He was my favorite fighter until he killed his own momentum (some out of his control).

I don't particularly like DDP. But every time I count him out, he manages to surprise me.

I want DDP to win, but you definitely need to be an elite wrestler and have a crazy gas tank to stop/limit the takedowns by the likes of Chimaev, Khabib, Merab and Makhachev types. DDP's style is so unorthodox that he's not easy to train for, should be an entertaining fight.

UFC just made a new deal and will be ditching the PPV model

They’re saying no ppv’s for the states. Wouldn’t it apply in Canada too though? We get cbs and paramount plus here. I think it’s a good move, I stream to channels in Europe and UK and it looks like they’ve already done this over there for ppv’s. I wonder how it is for bars though, they still gotta pay those crazy fees if they want to show it?

I've been using BT Sport for years to watch all these PPV events.

Looking forward to it myself.

My first thought is to lean towards DDP, because he’s big enough that I can’t see him being easy for even Khazmat to take down. But then remember
1) Khazmat looks absolutely massive training for this fight
2) Even if he doesn’t get the fight in the ground, Khazmat’s striking is pretty elite

And have to lean back towards giving Khazmat the edge.

This is like having Tyreek Hill do a fly route one on one , or Arnold is Chapman throwing a 105 mph heater, you know it's coming but can you stop it or hit it? That's what Khamzat's wrestling will bring in this matchup, wrestlers dictate the fight and if Dricus can't stop it he's in for a long or very short night.

Went as expected

Total domination. Pretty shocked at how little resistance DDP had.

Went about exactly as I expected unfortunately, other then Dricus going the distance. That was a nice fifth round he had though when khamzat finally gassed. He’s not agile enough to stuff those takedowns. You really need a freakish combination of strength and agility to do it, then khamzat gets tired and you got him.

Domination by Chimaev. People crying over this is funny though as if this isn't how greats like GSP, Khabib, Jones also did things. Grapplers have always had that advantage in MMA. If anything the criticism should be at Driscus for offering no fight or decent takedown defense at all as champ.

DDP looked like a complete amateur bum against chimaev lol that was embarrassing, zero resistance, nothing he could do.
