OT: Hows everyone feeling about Drake these days?

Just wondering how everyone feels about our Team ambassador given all the litigation he is doing post Kendrick ether?

Mods feel free to take this thread down if its breaking any rules or whatever, this is just a playful topic I thought would be a fun unserious break for the offseason boredom.

I wonder if Drake likes Hakka food. Has anyone ever heard Drake rap about Hakka food? That would increase his rizz astronomically to me.

Getting into a rap beef with a dude from Cali was just silly and an L rizz mistake. Rap beefs are the stuff of legend there and are sidequests here. Also he needs to stay away from that degenerate mongrel Top 5.

Mans flagship song repeats "started from the bottom now we here". Dude was a child actor, that's not the bottom. No one should be surprised he's been found out to be a joke and a fraud.

Even when I liked Drake a lot more, I always thought he was a cornball who made some good songs.

He’s cranked the cornball knob way up and the good songs knob way down.

I think he miscalculated the beef, in that usually a high profile beef will kind of just be a financial win even if you lose, but the way he lost seems to actually have cost him money. A lawsuit is about the weakest thing I can imagine, but it’s not out of character. His fans will probably double down and support it. It might even just be another move to grab attention. Our society is very stupid and rewards dumb things, so it could even be the right move.

I never loved his music, but I appreciated him as a guy who supported the Raptors and I thought he could be kind of funny (his skit with Demar for the all star game I think it was, was pretty great).

But the whole beef / suing everyone thing has completely turned me off. Dudes a loser.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Isn’t he suing the record company he joined rather than Kendrick and this is right after he signed with them? His issue is the record company promoting a track that portrays him as a pedophile which seems like a legit reason to sue?

I guess it’s kind of iffy since both he and Kendrick are part of the same record label, but they also used bots? Why would you as a company promote something that goes at the most popular rapper out there right after you signed them? There had to be an ulterior motive at play.

The funny thing is that this beef actually made me listen to some Drake music when I had only ever heard those I hear passby or in features with Eminem and others in them.

I actually though some of them sounded good but then I also hear that he had ghostwriters write some of his songs like Trophies, so not sure what to think when I’m not invested enough to figure out if the allegations are true or not.

One thing I do find hilarious is the whole “culture vulture” stuff Americans keep saying and I do see a lot of xenophobia. It’s just music. You either like it or not lol.

I don't really listen to him or pay any attention. He had a really good 10+ year run. Most artists only get 1 to 3 years run at the top and fade out. He represented the city and the raptors at times well. This is just the end of his era. He should go back into acting I'm surprised he hasn't done that yet and follow the footsteps of someone like Ludacris.

I’ve outgrown the music and hip hop in general, so I’m not sure how much of an effect the Kendrick thing had on that. But it’s had a long lasting effect that I didn’t anticipate for sure. And he put out another mid same old album with ptyrnxtdr recently. I think he’ll go the way of managing artists and fade more into the background at his age soon.

At this point Aubrey seems like a real life Slurms Mckenzie where the character of 'Drake' he's been playing for 15+ years has taken over whatever real person was once there. Like what Ric Flair became at some point where he couldn't seperate the gimmick from reality. But perpetually playing a young 20s lothario and making music catered to a teen audience doesn't quite work as well when you're nearing almost 40 now. That's probably where the disconnect comes in.

His R&B output was probably his best work but he had a lot of help from others in that department. But at least there's less shame in being ghost-written for in that genre compared to hip-hop. If he stuck mostly to that or showed any interest in growing as an artist instead of chasing the incel young males trying to portray some hard body he'd maybe be a bit more tolerable but I guess perhaps that's a reflection of who is checking for an act like that at this point.

I agree that pivoting back to acting would be a good move for him as the music thing is rapidly diminishing returns, though he'll always have a very loyal fanbase.

Drake has always been one of the least appealing rappers I've heard, the autotuned voice, the repetitive beats, the lazy lyrics.

About the same as usual. I don't find his music interesting. I dislike the way his vocals sound in his songs, it's very boring. There are other rappers and hip-hop artists out there who are way more interesting. I'm a little biased against because it isn't a home genre for me, but I find him specifically very, very dull and unappealing.

And he hasn't seemed relevant or useful to us as a franchise, so even that side of thing hasn't felt super relevant in a long while.

If someone made a diss song about me having an illegitimate daughter and I don’t have one, or made a summer hit about me calling me a pedophile and I’m not. I’d probably feel a certain way as well. I don’t know about suing companies over it but I’d try and do something.

Like maybe make a diss track about the guy that made the diss track? Sueing them seems like such a beta move in that particular cultural segment.

I voted I dont care because this has never been my genre and Drake has always been a cornball.

Being called a pedo especially in todays day and age can really damage a man's reputation. Look what it did to MJ so I can definitely understand the logic. Sure it's not 'cool' but this isn't high school either. He has a brand on the mainstream and you can't just drop slander like that without any proof rap battle or not. I think if you called him a coward, soft whatever he wouldn't care but pedo is another level.

I'm on team Drake. He has always uplifted the city and makes good hits. Yes he doesn't fit the stereotypical rapper mold but that's exactly what has allowed him to be so successful. Let's be real too, the very people that are criticizing him are the same people that used him for hits and they're obviously jealous and trying to bring him down. Regardless, he's home grown, F Kendrick

Not gonna get into this as it doesn't need to be rehashed for the 10000th time... but there is enough "smoke" and public things regarding Drake + underage girls that it kind of isn't slander at this point.

The dude has done some questionable things with underage girls in public. It makes you wonder

I grew up knowing him as a great British admiral and the architect of the defeat of the Spanish Armada, but since then more focus on his involvement in the sĺave trade and colonialism in general has tarnished his reputation.

I second this. Drake is a creep and our team should distance ourselves from him.

https://www.yourtango.com/entertainment/drake-grooming-underaged-girls-times-drake-allegedly-groomed-young-girls

Drake isn't a pedo, he's just a creep. It's not illegal but it won't make a lot of people like him.
