OT- Fred VanVleet out for season

Post#1 » by LoganAndWade » Mon Sep 22, 2025 8:10 pm

Just in: Houston Rockets' Fred VanVleet has suffered a torn ACL, sources tell ESPN. A devastating, potentially season-ending loss for the Rockets with their starting point guard and leader.

Terrible :((

But if anyone WILL make a full recovery as a 31 year undersized guard, it WILL be Fred van Vleet Sr. Just another first for the kid from Rockford, Illinois... the RIZZ of STEADY FREDDY!!

Yeah, FVV is toast now I would say. Small guard, 31 years old, torn ACL... he will be a bench 18mpg guy at best now I say.

They said this when he was an undrafted kid from Wichita! I believe in him!

The rizz of resilience... RIZZILIENCE.

Damn that sucks, best of luck to him. Houston pretty thin on PG depth. Will they trade for a starting PG or throw Sheppard in the fire, not sure he's ready.

Sucks but does he even impact their chances that much? Might be blessing in disguise for them if they have to throw Reed Sheppard in there and he starts showing something. He had some hype to him at the beginning of last year and already 21.

That's unfortunate. Likely out for the year. Hope he takes the time to fully recover.

Will we see Amen starting at PG for them and Reed coming off the bench?

Yep and the last year of his deal is player option. Guessing, he's going to pick that up now for sure.

Thankfully the Raps won’t be paying for it.

Big blow esp with how weak their guard rotation is. Rockets were 41-19 with him and 11-11 when he was out. His impact on winning is undeniable.

He tripped over the bags of money that Houston gave him.

Players go too hard in the summer these days. Let’s not forget Quickley showed up to training camp injured last year as well.

I don't think FVV had a choice of longer term contract / bigger total from ANYONE than the 2/50 he got from the Rockets, because over the past 3 years his stats already show a steady age-related decline.

He was already cooked and only the Rockets had to pay him, given his "impact" and "leadership".
