IQ 27/4/7 on 15 shots. (And HUGE late buckets)

Complaints galore in the GT.

Crazy that was his line. He is making a habit of hitting shots late. But he was absolute ass until then. 5 turnovers and they were all back breakers. Still this shows posters who call for burying guys who struggle early. If Darko listen to them, we wouldn't even have 5 guys to put on the floor.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Darko is the coach of the rebuilding raptors. If the rebuild is over, and we are trying to win games, he is a liability. He seems like players would enjoy playing for him, and that's great. For the future, I'd prefer a more accomplished coach and someone who commands respect. Carlisle tier is the goal, not a rookie coach who has achieved nothing at this level.

IQ is decent even this year you can make an argument he is a top 2 most impactful offensive player on the team (not scorer but offensive player). what he bring is valuable 3 point shooting, dribble drive, decent playmaking and some above the break gravity.

The issue though is he has to shoot and look to score more. He is not a plus defender so when he is not being as involved shooting the ball he is not providing the value his contract dictates.

There’s a difference in benching guys like iq who have proven track records and literally do things no one else on the team can do, and a guy like dick who does nothing consistently well at the nba level. This guy dick is getting praised for hustling, that’s the level we’ve gotten to and he hasn’t developed at all.

TLDR, iq deserves leeway, guys like dick dont. It’s not as cut and dry as suggesting Darko shouldn’t bench anybody.

Sure, but how many PGs are "plus defenders".

Just being average and not being a target to attack as a PG is already a win in itself, and I would argue IQ is still above average.

Yeah, Dick has done nothing in his career to suggest it is a "down stretch" or whatever.

If IQ is 0-7 from 3, I still want him taking that 8th 3. Dick... not so much.

I'm so happy we didn't have to hear post-game how we got what we deserved not respecting his shooting as a former world champion

As bad as iq has been from 3 over the last stretch, he’s still shooting around the same percentage as dicks best year with us, which sadly was his rookie season… that tells you a lot about iqs talent level and why he deserves more leeway… the issues with iq stem from the fact that thhey keep trying to make him this tradtitional pg. he’s not. And on an organization that has been consistently starved for shooting, it makes no sense to get rid of one of its only consistent shooting threats. They just need to tell him to be who he is, which is a scorer… hunt your shots, come off screens and jack em up, stop over dribbling like you’re Steve Nash…

You saw tonight, curry wasn’t dribbling the ball as nauseum trying to create offense… the man dribbles with a purpose, he’s trying to score. And when he has nothing, he passes out, relocates, and jacks it up when he gets an inch of room… iq should be used very similarly. Stop using him like he’s supposed to be Jamal shead.

darko is a good development coach, but you can only work with what you have....

he's done well to get a lot out of Shead, Walter while helping raptors figure out that Mogbo, Dick, Ochai are guys who are not long-term pieces

at the same time, he's helped RJ, Barnes, Mamu get more out of their own games....

i think ppl are too hard on Darko sometimes
