OT - Wiretap: Firesale in Milwaukee?

Post#1 » by Franchise_411 » Fri Jan 4, 2008 10:31 pm

So everyone's fair game (with the exception of Bogut and Yi) ... Bargs for CV31, get 'er done BC! ... Seriously though, is there anyone of interest on the Bucks to any of you?

I wouldn't mind getting Charlie back, but not for bargs, if we can package graham and dixon that'd be awesome

Without looking at the contract, I'd be all over that 2 guard.

Edit: Damn that's a big contract.

Michael Redd would be a good fit but would cost too much.

Here's a question: Would you trade Hump for Charlie V?

Redd would be a great fit, but the Bucks have little need for any of our main assets. They need young, defensive wings; we have Delfino, but he hardly approaches the value necessary to make a deal. Bargs doesn't fit, they already have a good PG...I think we're practically the worst trading partner imaginable.

No way.

I am becoming more and more impressed at Humps ability to play some semblance of defence, unlike Charlie No-D.

To get either charlie you'd probably have to eat Gadzuric's contract, so no thank you.

if based on talent, yes.

but based on team needs, then no. we needs hump's tough rebounding and inside hustle more than charlie's offense.

Redd is a possibility, but it would have to be some sort of 3 way deal to make things work and TO would have to also eat one of either Gadz or Simmons contract.

Am I the only one who thinks Redd is a terrible fit for this team?

Well we know Pat Riley is already on the phone offering Jason Williams' expiring contract and possibly youngsters like Dorrel Wright and Cook. And we are going to have a hard time beating offers like that to a team that wants to rebuild.

Edit: I tried the trade checker and a deal of Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Dorell Wright for Michael Redd and Desmond Mason works. Seems like a fairly plausible trade to me. Milwaukee would shed roughly $21 mil off their cap for next summer and add a young player. Miami is desperate as hell, and Riley admits he misses his outside shooters he had last year. Mason is a downgrade from Ricky Davis but they are somewhat similar players.

Toronto can't offer anything better than that for Redd.
Roy's the best player I've played against outside this guy from my hood in Queensbridge, guy named Mike Chaplain. He went to jail when he was 15 years old. He was the best player I played against, now it's Brandon Roy.

I think if we're going to get a all star wing we could use a bit more of a slasher/defender then Redd. We could really use some points in the paint, and with 2 jump shooting bigs, a jumpshooting SG, and the majority of the rest of the team being jumpshooters I don't know really how much better he'd make us for how talented he is.

yes...if you're thinking that he's only a jumpshooter, he's not....the guy can get to the rim at will which we desperately need. He sort of reminds me of ginobili, not as explosive but just as slithery in the paint
