OT-Heat are tanking

In the Dime magazine, when asked about his legacy Shaq has this to say
"That's the legacy I drive for. That's it. I have 3 years on my contract and I want to [play out my 3 years] and go out with a bang. Maybe I'll end up with five, maybe i'll end up with 4. But I want 6. That's what it's all about."
Now, Heat are winning nothing as of right now. I'm guessing they'll be in the full tank mode. Shaq will try to be in the best shape possible, D-Wade will get truly a 100%, and they will get a high draft pick...
I'm just wondering how Shaq will go out on a good note, unless the Heat tank the season....they won't be any better next season unless they get a high draft pick..

How does this mean that the Heat are tanking?

No player with any pride would tank to get a high draft pick, especially in freaking January. There's no way someone like Shaq would tank like that.

... and why did it take you so long to read Dime? It took me two **** to finish that issue.

The Heat aren't tanking... they just plain suck.. although its strange how they took it to Dallas without D-Wade and Shaq... everytime I turn on a Miami game it seems like they're losing to another bad team... the season is done for them, just trade Shaq to a contender for draft picks and young players before he becomes worse than Jason Collins, if thats possible... build around D-Wade now before he bolts...

shaq to toronto for kapono, rights to Georgio Prinzetakis, and a 2009 lottery protected first round pick
this way we get a big man to tutor bargnani. miami gets kapono back (As riley publicly stated he missed him), and we throw in the guy whos name i cant spell..the guy with the nice hair
im obviously not being serious. just bored

Shaq is one season away from where Hakeem was when we got him.

I think the OP is tryin' to link a parrellel between the Heat and the Spurs before drafting Tim Duncan

before drafting Duncan, Robinson was injured all season. So they could legitimately lose games & not be questioned about it.
Heat are almost certainly playing for better draft position. I dont think "winning" is a top priority but they are not deliberately losing - yet
Shaq is scheduled for his annual "injury" later this season.

I remember talking to all my buddies about the heat this year and how they were going to blow and I got laughed at.

Miami needs to rebuild and be done with shaq. he's to slow and ineffective, he slows Wade down. With a guy like wade as your franchise you need build more of an up tempo team around him. Miami' so clunky.

The heat need Thabeet to replace shaq for real. I think they may try to get two picks in the 1st round, if they get like OJ, then they will be crazy. I dont think they need Rose because of Cook. I wonder how Dorell Wright is doing. He is still young and has game, maybe our first rounder for Dorell?

If they do get a high pick...say Top 3 then Derrick Rose without a doubt is their #1 priority. By the way they've been playing basketball, there playing pretty well to get that pick.

Lol, true... but at the moment I really don't think they are tanking, they just suck.
