I'm sure Larry Tanenbaum wants to buy it. And Ted Rogers. Hell, I want to buy it, too.
Big difference between wanting it, and doing it.
And Schnaider comes across as too hockey oriented for my liking.

Thank you, does that mean no more Pension plan with the teachers owning the leafs or whatever. Because from my understanding they are holding back the leafs or something of that sort.

Well. He was a total disaster running a F1 team (and I follow F1 pretty closely). I hope he does not come close to MLSE. He will be a disaster.

Actually, he sold the F1 team for 3 times what he bought it for so I don't believe he considers that to be a disaster.

Tanenbaum has always wanted a larger piece, so I don't see this going anywhere.

Just the type of person we need, a guy that runs a team into the ground and then after doing so sells to the first high bidder he can for doulbe or triple the money.
Just the type of guy along with his buddy tie domi that would be all hockey all the time and ultimately ignore and fold the raptors.
Hell no to this guy

If Domi's involved, this would be a purely hockey operation.
This would be trouble if it went ahead. I like the way the situation is now, there's no reason for it to change.

Could there be a worse owner than the teachers fund.... We shall see.

I'm pretty sure that Larry T has the right of first refusal whenever the Teachers want to sell, so the only way Alex Schneider could buy is if he massively overpays, and overpays by so much that even Tannenbaum decides it's worth it to give up his dream and take the money.

After the teachers pension plan is done here, they'll be headed off to another long term investment to suck some more money out, so MLSE could be looking at a new majority owner, maybe this guy and Ted Rogers could team up purchase MLSE?
Only crappy thing about that, would be just like the Jays, the Leafs and Raps would play like 80 % of there games on Rogers Sportsnet, which sucks.

If he does own MLSE, it will be a disaster for the Raptors and TFC Franchises as this man is too hockey oriented, he is most likely going to neglect these organizations and pour all of his attention and money on the Leafs. At least Larry T is a big basketball fan and he is buzzing around the organization willing to help, because he is one owner who cares. Same with that other guy who hangs around TFC, dont think its Peddie though. Im just saying, say what you will about MLSE, but hey it could be worse.

I personally think it would be terrible if Larry sold his share. From what I hear, Larry's the one that's been trying to get Peddie out for a long time now, Larry was the one who personally lured B.C out of Phoenix, and Larry is the guy, who if running the show was planning on doing a complete overhaul with the terrible leafs management we have right now, if not for the teachers-backed Peddie. I think if anything, we need to get the teachers out of MLSE, they are terrible owners who only care about money.

Well, I don't know what you're hearing, but that would certainly be surprising considering that Larry Tenenbaum is Richard's uncle and helped integrate Peddie into the president of basketball operations at MLSE (then Palestra group circa 1993) from his position of chief operating officer at Netstar Communications.
Mr. Tenenbaum did smarten up and, with the hiring of Mr. Colangelo two years ago, moved Mr. Peddie away from micromanaging basketball duties as he appointed Bryan president of basketball operations as well as general manager. Peddie has returned to his larger role of president & CEO of MLSE where he has been very successful delivering a high return on equity to shareholders.
To my knowledge, Mr. Tenenbaum has never attempted to fire his nephew.

As a Raptor fan, I wonder if the Teachers PP is a good sports owner.
As a teacher, I wonder if MLSE is a good investment. I think it is, right?

I've never understood why people blame Teachers. I always thought they were a silent partner (just there for the $$$) and Tannenbaum effectively was in charge.
So Teachers kept their noses out of decisions, no?
