Another Look At Bargnani's Struggles

Post#1 » by AB_21 » Sun Jan 6, 2008 3:45 am

After reading the first paragraph of RJC's long, long, long post that will somehow evaluate Bargnani over the next 5 games (I didn't read it all). I just remember a bit of a simpler look at why Bargnani has struggled...

Image

Notice anything different?

No knee brace. He's been wearing it the entire time he's been struggling and maybe the brace was bothering his jumpshot and his mobility (his two biggest weaknesses during his slump). Maybe RJC knows about this and will look like a brilliant man after his experiment but I think it could be the brace.

It very well could be the fact that he's just recovering from the injury but I think wearing that brace may have bothered him.

I know it sounds crazy but it's more plausible than it may seem.

Bargnani is in the NBA because hes 7foot, he has no skills, those skills any public school kids can have shooting at 8foot rims and even worse. He just doesnt have talent, not basketball talent, The guy looks like a total noob playing basketball, NBA isnt the palce to learn how to play the damn sport, he might have an outside shot, but so does Dave Hoopla. Trade him for a real baller befoer its to late.

I agree. Anyone who has ever worn a knee brace to play basketball will testify just how much your movement (especially laterally), balance and lift is effected. Bargnani had a difficult time adjusting to the limitations in his game as a result of it and had a very poor month. With the brace off and his confidence back in his jump shot, I fully expect a dramatic improvement in his production.

People are stupid to question this guy's talent...to call him a bust. He's learning and getting better each game he plays...I have no doubt that he will become an all-star.

A player that has so much versatility in his game and displays glimpses of incredible talent cannot possibly be a bust. He may need time to develop, but he will no doubt be a very good player in this league.

Anyone who can score 25 points against the NBA's #2 ranked defense has got some sort of talent. If you truly believe what you just said and are not just starting things up, you need to start watching more basketball, much more.

Please, people may say Darko showed glimpses of talent...but he did no such thing from what I've seen...and his biggest problem is his attitude...Nevertheless, he's my hero

Ive watched enough NBA to know that anyone in the league can put up 25pts when given the playingtime and escpially when given the green light by the coach to chuck it up anytime youre open. This is the NBA, if you cant score 20+ on your good night with the coach backing your offfense you dont deserve to be in the league. So anyone in the league can score you 20 points on a good night, so what next? What else do they bring? Bargnani brings nothing except the odd hot shooting night which any dummy in the league can give you with enough shats at the rim. IM not impressed bargnani scores 25 points, when hes been scoring 1-11 with no other stats to speak of for the last month.

Can you please define what you mean by talent?

Brian Colangelo seems to think he has enough "talent" to draft him.

You mention "chucking" yet Bargs shot 10-18. Good for 55%. If that's what you call chucking then please tell me the word you use for Martin.

First off all, spell and use proper grammar.

Second: Your clearly an idiot. Even if "shooting" is all he does, isn't that a skill? Those skills any public kid can do? How come the guy on your avatar can't shoot a 3? Better yet, how come you're not playing for Raps since you can do everything Bargs can.

Oh, how in the heck was he the 1 number pick, a runner up for ROY? I guess BC really screwed up on that one. You're obviously a "hater", and not a good one. Go join Saturn in his world of insanity.

Well he was capable of scoring 20+ points multiple times so by your logic he does deserve to be in the league lol...and as for the other areas to his game, be patient and give him time to develop and improve in those areas.

The guy in your avatar sucked ass in Utah and when he first got here in Toronto. But what made him better? The opportunity to play and get minutes to actually improve on his game. He was drafted in 2004, Bargnani was drafted in 2006. Give the guy some time to actually develop. At the very least give him the same amount as Humphries before you **** on him.

A very funny post. Damn little kids on RealGM. Too bad we can't keep them out. All this hate for Bargnani and no substance in your post. He scores 25pts and the peanut gallery is not happy. Go get some fresh air outside. He is not the reason the Raptors lost against the Pistons. Watch the game slowly and take a look at the entire team and see how each person played. Stop blaming one guy for the Raptor woes. Some fans are pathetic.
