Forget teamwork, we need a Superstar.

Post#1 » by Necrodamus » Sun Jan 6, 2008 8:42 pm

Oh how convenient it is to hate on the Raptors after a loss. What can I say? Haters gotta hate, its just in their nature. My point is that Superstar talent AND team chemistry obviously go a long ways, just as Lebron, Chancey, Duncan, KG et al. And Bosh is just not their yet, and maybe never will be. Talent breeds confidence and confidence is is contagious - it leads to teams to play better in pressure type situations. I can't say there is a single person on this team that exudes the type of confidence/talent to lead this team to a championship run. (TJ and Bosh are close but there is something missing) Your thoughts?

TBH I see Bosh with more of a Marion role. He does all the little things to win you games, but when it comes down to it, you need guys like Nash and Amare to get the points.

We have a nice PG combo which is not Nash, hence we need 2 superstars to take the load.

Since this is not feasible our guys should step up, grab some boards, ala Glen Davis. Our team is incredibly soft. We died by the jumper.

I don't know why so many people seem to be blaming our offense for the loss. We scored 90 points and I thought the offense was reasonably good. If anything it's our defense that needs to be improved, although to be honest I don't see what an improved defense could have done to contain LBJ in the 4th.

Bottom line, sometimes you lose because the other team performs well, not because you perform bad.

Agreed.. Bosh is a Lamar Odom type much better but along the same lines an allstar player who would be better as a 2nd piece

We need a swingman who can create and break the defense down. Unfortunately, our swingman are more of shooters.

Guys need to calm down. People think we are supposed to win a title or something this year. The only reason BC is loading up the bench with so many players is to trade them away like Boston did. Anyone who says they won't take 20 & 10 from their star every night doesn't know basketball.

Not his falut he tried his best and it wasnt enough.. He is a great player but not the player to carry a team for example david west bosh is better yes but he would play the same role we need a superstar..and unfortunately they dont come around to often and if they do we dont draft them

When during critical times of the game you can't generate an offence and are forced to shoot jumpers, I blame it. We did score 90 pts, and it was a superhuman effort, but sometimes you need to drive at the basket.

We're never going to stop Lebron with our defence, so our best defence is a good well rounded offence. It is definately too 1 dimensional right now, and it always has been.

Not blaming Bosh. I just think we are missing legitimate superstar talent.

Not even a superstar just another high level player possible a player like a richard jefferson who can carry you for spurt during the game bosh can keep us close or get us a lead and then wing player would help us seal it

The team is just trying to battle the soft label. I'm not sure if our front court is softer than our back court at this point, but teams have all the confidence in the world against us and we can't do a thing about it with the players we have.
