So why Kapono in the 4th? Why can't Hump hit a FT?

I'm sitting in the upper deck and as we fritter away our lead, or rather LBJ goes haywire, and I'm trying to figure out why we've gone small and why in doing so we're playing Kapono who is neither a good defender or an offensive creator, who has two points - after zero on Friday. I know some guys need rest, but it dawns on me that we don't play until Wednesday, so why worry about resting guys?

As for the question about Hump's minutes, I think he's missed seven of his last eight free throws, and on the last one I thought he would try to lean from the foul line to the rim, hoping to drop it in. I'd like to remind Homefries that if he can't hit a FT, he can't be out there or teams are going to ...

Hack-a-Hump

And did the TV guys have any reasonable explanation for that ridiculous goal-tending call?

You do realize that if that's goal tending, almost any lob or arching pass touched before it hits the floor is goal-tending. It's not why we lost, but it was one of the more ridiculous calls I have ever seen.

I was watching what Glen Davis was doing for the Boston Celtics last night and I was thinking about what Humphries is doing for the Raptors. I saw Glen Davis hitting his free throws, and I'm saying to myself, why can't Humphries do the same for the Raptors? Humphries going to the free throw line is like a turnover for the Raptors, or at least a missed fg attempt. What a waste.

I know the Raptors have been struggling at the free throw line as a team for the past 2 games, but Humphries is the worst. Anthony Parker is right behind him too.

Chuck and Leo thought the goal-tend was a bad call.

And hack-a-hump wouldn't be all bad...more fouls on opposing bigs means Bosh can try to foul them out. We rarely ever get rid of opposing PF/C's. Even if he only hits half his tosses, getting a couple extra fouls so Bosh can attack would be great.

dagger that goaltending call was ridiculous... the guys at CBC pointed out that the ball hit the rim before it got touched on the way down... so there was no possibility at all for that shot going in.

At the same time, LBJ punked us, seems Bosh's cousin was talking **** and James did not like that.... does not reflect that well on Chris, but he got picked fourth and king got the 1st. IT wasn't all bosh's fault, the team did not back him up.

Re: going small. In the two losses to Cleveland this season, these are the stats when we play small ball:

Tonight, score while playing at least two bigs: 70-53 in 35:13.
Differential after switching to small lineup: 20-38 in 12:47.
Offensive rebounding differential: 5-20.

Nov. 24 loss, score while playing at least two bigs: 74-72 in 33:20.
Score playing small ball: 34-39 in 14:40.
Offensive rebounding differential in the game: 6-17.

When we go small against Cleveland, they absolutely light us up; play two big men and they score on a pace that would give them 87.5 points over a full 48 minute ball game. When we match them? 134.9 points/48. This loss is on the shoulders of a lot of people, but Smitch has to learn that you cannot go small against this Cavaliers squad.

How a kid on a message board knows this stuff and our NBA coach doesnt is beyond me.

Sam is a panic coach, if anything goes wrong anywhere at anytime he turns and makes changed the the lineup on the floor.

Bargs bench, joey bench, delfino in and out of the lineup in 1 minute intervals, Kapono abscent for most of the game asnd thrust into the fire in the last few minutes of the game

Watching this man coach is like watching a crack head run around town after smokin an oz

Kapono "thrust into the fire" ??? WTF are you talking about? He's a pro basketball player who has won a championship. I'm sure he can handle it. The main thing is he needs to take more shots some how. He's our best shooter and shoots 3 shots per game....that's unacceptable. There is no way Hump and Delfino should be taking shots away from this guy
