The concern, in some quarters, is that the Raptors may not see T.J. Ford in uniform for another month (think post-all star) and I

Juan hasn't been that bad. Unless we can get those other guys cheap and not give away anything we want to keep, why bother?

I don't know about Rodriguez's availability, but I expect a move to be made to shore up our backup point guard situation shortly.

What would we have to give up to get Sergio?

IMO we need a more consistent production than that Rodriguez is able to bring us nowadays

D-Mart's contract becomes fully guaranteed on January 10th. Our back-up point guard play has been awful.

I expect Bryan will cut D-Mart and bring in a new point guard within 10 days.

Well we'll know very soon if that's the case, he has until Wednesday to cut him.

Sergio would be intriguing on a number of fronts.. an all Spaniard PG system.. and it would be interesting to see how the forum reacts ;)

It would result in disaster with two soft Euro PG's.

I'd love to see Damon back. He might even beat Jose for the starting job.

Sergio Rodriguez

For a guy that's making, what, less than 1 mil per year with that kind of potential and is only 21-22 years old, highly unlikely they trade him. Not to mention Portland's been having incredible success so there would be no point to make any changes on their side. They're basically set at the pg position (in terms of quality starting, backup and 3rd pg's). I don't see what we could offer to improve any of their positions except Calderon as their starting point

Yep. DMart isn't even dressing anymore. His playing career is over and his coaching career is about to begin.

hope you're kidding...
I cringe when I see Juan getting in the game as a PG, he is almost as bad as Kmart.

We need a PG ASAP if TJ's return is in question or delayed any longer.

How about some of the Lakers' pg's? They have Crittenton, Farmar, Vujacic and Fisher. Crittenton and Farmar look good and I wouldn't mind having Vujacic over Martin or Dixon.

Sam.

He wants out of Clipperland, he's gutsy, fiery, and can make big shots down the stretch in a game. He's been a winner throughout his career, and his career is almost done... but he has just enough left in the tank to help us now.

And he's a good enough shooter that you could play him with one of our other PGs.

Damon would definitely work too.

Juan + Joey for Damon + filler?

Done.

As I've posted before, there's no chance of Damon returning to Toronto. The guy wants to:

1.) play for a contender
2.) get significant P/T.

Toronto cannot offer him his first option this year and once TJ is back, Mighty Mouse is a third string PG. I think our best case scenario is bringing someone in from the D-League.

Wow. I never thought it would be after the All Star break till we see TJ again, this could be a complete disaster.

I hope Smith is 100% wrong on this one.
