BOTTOM LINE: WE NEED ANOTHER STAR

Post#1 » by K.S » Mon Jan 7, 2008 2:19 pm

Maggete is out there, Redd is out here, and im pretty sure their are a few other star players out their that colangelo can acquire. I am sick of this, bottom line we dont hav great players, we have decent players but not great players. I dont care wat it takes to bring Maggete or Redd as long as Bosh is not going the other way. And salary? who cares? i dont care if redd is making over 50 mill in the next few years, bottom line is we need to win basketball games and keep the fans excited. I dont want to keep saying next year next year every year, i hate that mentality! i want to win this year! we're not rebuilding, we just need one more piece to make that run, and if theirs anyone in the NBA that can bring that one piece in it's Bryan Colangelo. GET IT ON BC!!!!

I wouldn't really consider Maggete a star, he would be a nice addition if we could get him for cheap, but I have faith that this team will be able to become part of a dynasty if we keep developing this young talent. Redd would be a quick fix for us and probably move us up from a good to a great team for the next 3-4 years, but then he'd slow down and his contract would destroy us. I do agree that we need a new star, but I hope we can get this star with a clearance sale price.

Bottom line: We need Rebounding
Bottom line: We need a new coach
Bottom line: We need to get rid of d mart and dixon
Bottom line: We need a big man coach for bargnani

agreed. we do need another star to help the team but this player need to still have some upside. the present team is going to go against the likes of detroit or the celtics in the playoffs. we are clearly not in that level, and i dont think there's one player right now that we can get that can take us there. there's really no other choice but to wait until our players develop.

Ok, I think the term "Dynasty" is being tossed around too loosely now. A dyansty is the Spurs, the Lakers of the early 2000's and 80's, the Bulls of the 90's, the Celtics of 50's 60's and 80's.

C'mon, there's no way the Raptors ever touch that status, I'll be happy with a Sacramento King like run circa 2001-2005. We're never going to win championships in this league with a core of Bargnani, Bosh and Ford. Joe Dumars has done a great job of retooling to keep the Pistons in contention, we're nowhere near their level and I don't see that changing for the next few years at the least. The Celtics will dominate the East also for a minimum of 3-4 years. The Cavs will always be better too as long as they have Lebron, I couldn't imagine how much better they'd be if their management actually surrounded him with a competent team.

The BOTTOM LINE IS, we're overrating our talent too much. Dynasty, lol. Get out of here with that nonsense. We're a treadmill team and nothing more at the moment, and I don't see that changing for the next few years unless we can really make some sort of splash whether it be through FA, the Draft or via trade. We're not going far with our current core.

Yep.

Corey Maggette is clearly the missing piece for our championship run.

We need a slasher - someone else other than Bosh to get in the paint, dunk and draw fouls. I was hoping Moon could be that, but for some reason he has a boner for his own jump shot and doesn't go to the paint nearly enough.

what's the point if smitch won't use him? he refuses to go to bosh, another super star would be wasted with moon, kapono, delfino, and parker taking all the shots

I said it before to, we do need another scorer, Bosh hasnt become that goto guy just yet and I dont know if he ever will but wtf was going on last night???? Lebron was tearing us apart and where was Bosh to counter that? I just dont understand this offence, were putting way to much stock in our bench. Its good to hav a solid bench but you cant rely on them to do the majority of your scoring. Ur best player has to be the guy that gets the majority of the shots. Bosh took only 11 shots last night, missed only 2 of them and was 5-6 from FT. Does it not occur to anyone on the team or even Bosh himself that maybe he needs to work harder for position and demand the ball. Thats exactly wat Lebron did when his team needed it.

I agree we need another star, not neccessarily a superstar but a guy who can score consistently and that we can goto when Bosh cant get it done. I thought Magette was that guy to but then I saw his contract, he makes a decent 8mill a season which is pretty good BUT he has an opt out at the end of this season so to give up quality players for a guy who can walk at the end of the season isnt a smart idea. BC will have to look elsewhere. if he hasnt started already, he should hav though.

Well they decided to double Bosh and we went 1v1 with LBJ...... PLUS other Cavs players stepped up after being fed the ball from LBJ

they tried to double bosh near the end of the game and bosh was still able to produce. bosh was on fire the first quarter then mitchell completely forgot about his best player.

mitchell needs to go, we could have lebron on our team and he would still find a way to get the ball out of lebrons hands.

We do need a star it would help elevate everyone else especially Bosh. With a second star, we could win while developing Bargnani and Ford to become another star for our team since most good teams have 3, sometimes 4 big players. Right now, we just have Bosh and no one else to fill in that role because even though Ford is a good side kick, he's not a star yet..he's still developping into that role and Bargs is still far from it.

Michael Redd is NOT , I repeat is NOT the answer to this teams 2/3 position.. He's a volume shooter, and needs 20 shots to average 20+ points a game. You guys think Bargnani's not getting enough touches now, sheeeeiiit with Redd and Ford on the floor at the same time, he'll never see the ball.
