On a Positive Note ... Elliot Friedman is Pretty Good

Is anyone else impressed with what Elliot Friedman brings to the sidelines? I found his sideline reporting pretty entertaining and, his halftime interview with Smitch was great.

For sure. Every interview he has done so far this year has been excellent.

He was talking to a portrait..... That's embarassing.
CBC's production sucks. Always has, the only good thing is that we're broadcasted nationally.
Btw, how many games have we won on CBC this year? I think only the Bulls game.

I am impressed. But, what's the deal with the extra access CBC gets? For one thing, they actually get Smitch coming out of halftime.
But also, look at the interview. Smitch actually looks relaxed. And he was relaxed while answering silly questions about old topics like VC and Rafer. Is that an Elliotte thing? A CBC thing? So odd.

I noticed that too... Perhaps he has found something in Keon Clarks old locker that takes the edge off...

Are you kidding, CBC has by far the best production of Raptor games this year.

Its looks like people like to complain about CBC for the sake of complaining.
The production is good.
Elloit Freidman is the type of broadcaster I appreciate. He is well researched and knows to interview. He also can handle more than one sport properly. I will take Elloint over Rod Black or Vic Rauter any day.
And Elloit knows his basketball.

i dont know the guy sounds so monotonous and like he's ready to fall asleep. When he was talking about stats at the beginning of the game he sounded like he was reading off a teleprompter.

Maybe he had Smith hit the bong

lol, that was pretty funny. Elliot has definitely improved since his first game for the raps (Andreas Bargniani?). I thought he did a great job yesterday.

hmm, I disagree completely.
I'm not a huge hockey or soccer fan, but when I do watch the odd game, I'm usually impressed by CBC's production.
And as far as the Raptors go, I prefer the games on CBC to any other station easily.

Are you guys serious? He's awful man. He acts like a contest winner on camera, moving his lips along with the interviewee's response. It's like he giggles like a schoolgirl after the camera turns off - "I just got to talk to Sam Mitchell!"

I didn't pay much attention to his delivery but, the questions he asked and the responses he got from Smitch were pretty good. i.e. shedding more light on the VC situation, Smitch's interactions with other players and how he has grown as a coach.

You guys can't seriously tell me you prefer Chuck's or Leo's interviews to Friedman's...can you?

Elliote and CBC rock.. I do wish that they would let us have different announcers than Chuck/Leo, but what can you do.

When it comes to sports I feel the CBC has the best on air product in Canada.
They do a great job with hockey, soccer and the Olympics and they are getting better and better with each Raptors game.

Actually I wish CBC did all 82 games. Having games on four diffrent channels is just annoying.

QFT.
There were some oddly timed cuts (like the whole Friedman talking to a portrait thing coming in a few moments before the TO), but other than that the production quality is fantastic. The CBC's format for the game score, and that little Around the NBA feature (nothing new to the CBC, but new-ish for us Raps fans), the half time interview that actually had some kind of journalism feel to it, all great IMO.
