i though melo was the franchise but this season it looks like its AI.

AI is averaging more points,steals,asst, and the most shockin stat of all is his shooting percentage is higher.

AI is killing it this season, he's def playing better than carmelo, def all-star worthy tho the west has like 6 pg that deserves to be in the all-star game, wonder who the coaches will vote in

why is that surprising? who has more heart? AI or Melo? who's more talented? Who's bigger? Well, at least Melo is bigger.

AI is a warrior, he would look good in a Raptor uni with Bosh

For now AI is...he's just nearing the end of his prime, has 12 years experience, benefits a lot from touch fouls since he's so slight, and he dominates the ball since he's often the PG.. Melo also defers to AI out of respect, which is admirable..

But make no mistake, Melo is this franchise. They were revitalized when they drafted him and he's been extremely good in terms of marketing and making Denver a popular destination for free agents, as well as putting it on the NBA map..

Melo is in just his 5th year and far from his prime.. I think when you look back on this Nuggets team AI will just be a blip between the years Melo was the franchise player and carrying this team, hopefully in the future to a championship or at least elite status...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say but because of all the comparisons to his draftmates in Melo, Wade, and especially LeBron, Bosh comes up short. A lot of people equate 'Franchise Player' to 'Superstar'. In our case, Bosh is 'our franchise player', but not yet a superstar.. He is an All-Star though...He's franchise player by default of being the best player on our team, like Iguodala is in Philly, and Iggy is not even an All-Star.

I do think Bosh has potential to get better, a lot better. Look at Rasheed, he's been playing arguable the best of his career the last 5 years in Detroit when a lot of people thought he was going downhill...

its unfair to compare big to small...and all 3 of those guys have players on their team that are alot better than bosh's teamates....well maybe not wade..but next year with rose.

I'm not the one comparing dude, its Raptors fans that are doing it, that was my whole point.. Thats a good rebuttal but even then they would just compare Bosh to Dwight and Boozer and say he still comes up short.. There's always going to be comparisons instead of appreciating what we have...

I'm saying Bosh can still get better in the future, it would be absurd to think that he's done at age 23...

Well not surprising, after all it is AI. I mean Carmelo is definitely the franchise and the future, but this is freakin AI we're talking about, not some borderline All Star.

Raptors fan need to start appreciating bosh...he's doing well for us and considering its bosh and jose right now....that combo is good but jose is no where close to a williams or lewis. I wonder what would happen if it was bosh and williams or lewis.

is ai still a superstar i don't know what he did to lose that status.

AI is better than Melo in terms of how that team functions. They basically play a your-turn-my-turn type of offense which is better suited for Iversons ISO style skills. But I'd rather have Melo on this team than Iverson.

After watching the FIBA tourney this summer I saw a side of Melo that is extremely cerebral and allows him to be a part of a functioning TEAM offense. He was making extremely quick decisions when recieving the ball, thrived while playing an uptempo style, and played as an unselfish triple threat player that looked like he has the potential to be the closest thing to Magic since Magic. Outside of Lebron, Melo would be my ideal choice to have as a superstar for the type of team BC is trying to put together here.

Iverson is a HALL OF FAMER!!!...1st ballot no doubt. The guy beat out Shaq for the MVP.

The Nuggets have a nice defensive presence in Camby and Martin that allows AI and Melo to relax on defense and concentrate on scoring points.

One really has to appreciate what Chris Bosh has done in the past and what he's doing this season because he hasn't the luxury of another player to take the pressure off him, both offensively and defensively.

Am I the only one who would rather have Camby than either one?

I would not want to have Iverson on this team. Watching the suns nuggets game last night, Iverson rarely passes the ball. Melo scored alot of his points off of offensive rebounds. There was one point where Camby grabbed an offensive rebound, Iverson was wide open beside him calling for the ball and he passed it to somebody else. With Iverson on this team sure he will score you alot of points but our players will get less touches, we are not a good offensive rebounding team so where would the rest of the players get their points from?

But when things get tight down the stretch AI will be able to take over something that the Raptors have had trouble with as of late.
