Beginning to see why Detroit gave up Delfino for 2nd rounder

so we're finally starting to see why the Detroit Pistons gave him up for so little. Everyone thought this could potetially have been a steal, but an organziation like the pistons(who have many great players) knows what they're doing....Sure he shows potential, but Detroit knew of Delfino's rather inconsistant play, terrible shot selection, streaky jumper, bone head turnovers. Im starting to see why it wasn't much of a loss for the Pistons to give up Delfino for a second rounder...

Detroit just simply didn't need Delfino, however the raptors need his toughness and defensive ability off the bench.. we all know delfino can knock down shots and play terrific end to end basketball.. he's just strugglin right now and we just gotta wait.. its way too early to drop the gun on him

That trade was a wash.

Great, here comes the bipolar fans.
I still like the trade, but Delfino does have his limitations. His inability to finish at the rim is the biggest thing that irks me.
For 2 2nd's, he was a solid pickup though.

2 2nds are nothing. Guys who will come in the league and do nothing. They are late 40's picks. Worth practically nothing. Pistons just needed to move 'fino because they really didn't need him.

His shot selection is terrible I agree, but he was a decent pickup. All of this depends on who those 2 2nd rounders will be.

meh... The second rounders are traditionally D-leaguers especially the one's in the 40's.
Delfino is at least a useful body

It was a nice trade, what are you saying?
all role players go through slumps, unless you were expecting a superstar breakout.

I remembered after his first pre season game here, somebody went over to the Pistons board and started a thread about how much we robbed them. I say they bump it back up.

bi-polar.
Still a great pick-up for the Raps. He's slumping but still one of our better bench players.

Well the predictions for Carlos Delfino were a bit too much. He'll be a much better player in Europe IMO, and plus he'll get more dough than he does here in the NBA.

still a good pick up by the raps. 2 2nd rounds rarely amount to useful players (yes there are some, but the ratio is not good).

That was a fantastic trade, still is. Delfino has always been a streaky shooter nothings changed, with his ball handling and athletic ability, though I'd like to see him drive more.

I think he's a solid pick-up for basically nothing. He's slumping a little right now but name me a player who hasn't.
Is he a starter calibre player? No. But he's definitely a good rotation player on most teams.

If the criticism is that you can finally see why he's worth what you paid for him, then life ain't that bad.

Nah, I think it was a great trade. Delfino's streaky, but he's still a damn solid player. Odds are those picks won't amount to much and it's not hard to acquire 2nd rounders anyways, teams are always selling 2nd round picks on draft night for a Few Hundred K.
The Pistons only moved him because they had to clear playing time for their new young guys. Stuckey, Afflalo and Hayes. They also didn't want to just lose him for nothing at the end of the year.

The problem with Delfino is that unlike most International players he doesn't react to whats happening on the court, but rather makes his decisions based on what he feels like doing at the time. He's more like an American chucker than a jack-of-all-traits International player.

F*ck this thread. A guy goes through a rough stretch and "fans" start questioning his acquisition. I didn't see this thread started early in November or December. Complete **** and exactly what gives RealGM posters the bipolar label.

Him and Kapono are role players, and the only reason they're struggling lately is because we've played good teams who know their **** and arent giving them any space due to our lack of a backup PG and that backup pg getting in the lane and making things happen. Not much you can do when youre told to stand in the corner and theres no movement in the offence at all. If they were playing with either Jose or TJ in those stretches this thread would never have been made. Role players need to be set up for their offence, especially in our pg controlled offence, and when theyre in the game we're lucky to even get a shot off before the shot clock buzzer due to playing with Dmart or Dixon.
