Hollinger defends his Calderon selection

This is probably going to shock some people, so I'll just go ahead and say it: Calderon, right now, is the third-best guard in the East.
Go ahead and laugh. Get it out of your system.
So if, after all this, you think he isn't an All-Star, I have only one question. Other than saying, "He's just not what I think of when I think of an All-Star," what case is there for Jose Calderon not to be an All-Star this year?
read more here, the links missed up but they work

Interesting numbers.
"Pure Point Efficiency" . . . .what's the 2/3 for in the formula?

being the 3rd best point guard in the east is like being the 3rd best center in the east. it may initially seem impressive and seem like it warrants an all-star selection, but once you take a look at all the centers, it's not all that impressive.

Of course Jose's an allstar, whos better at the PG position in the east? maybe Jkidd, after that theres nothing. Jose should have at leaste been on the ballot, at the very leaste and definately voted in by the coaches. Its a joke that a top 5 PG in the league cant even get on the ballot. But then again allstar games are just for show for the fans so im not gonna get upset about it. The NBA already lost its credibility when it comes to awards ,with its rigged MVP's, rigged drafts, rigged games and their COY choices. No one remembers allstars anyway, just champions.

Billups is the 2nd pg on the team and that's the end of it. Jose's not going to be there. Hollinger should just understand that.

It's pretty impressive that a supposed backup even merits this discussion, even if he isn't quite an all-star.

He is a backup on the raptors. TJ would be considered an all star had he not been injured.

If anyhing, we should be happy two Raps players have All-Star consideration this season but hey... looks like there isn't only TJ haters out there!

Your metaphoric analogy has no basis for intelligent argument. What facts can you supply to support your claim that a point guard is likened to a center in basketball. Under what capacity or theory do you see a resemblance.
If your argument is only to explain that there are not many quality centers in the East, then the same is not true of point guards where Jose Calderon can in fact be a starting point guard on several teams in the NBA, including a some teams in the West.

Funny that you of all posters should make that comment.
I recall an old story about the 'pot calling the kettle black' or something like that????

Well since we can now see that we can't go anywhere with Jose running the point, it would be great if he makes the All-Star team. Imagine what we could get in return for him

.
Then again if Jose makes the team, we might see Shaq and Dwight Howard taking jumpshots all game. Of course I'm joking

Just accept that TJ is not universally loved and move on with your life.
Please stop crying abt it.
