Jose talked about contract (in spanish media)

"You get more respect if you sign a good contract. But it's not everything. If I get a 12-million offer next year from a team that has no options to win, I'm not interested to go there at all", said Jose Calderon. "It would be bad for my career. I will seriously look at it." That sentence means he could even return to Europe.
Calderon: "If a friend of mine wants to come to the US to see me, maybe he will not travel to Toronto. It will depend on how good is going to be the Raptors' offer. I enjoy doing my job here in Toronto. I like the city."

Which winning teams in need of a PG have enough cap-room to possible sign Calderon? Im guessing not many...

There is no way on earth I will accept the fact that that's an actual translation. No Spanish person goes more than 4 words without either hitting on the nearest woman or talking about bullfighting. It's a fact.

He could have meant a Jungian personality type, though. Still not too nice.
I think it's perfectly healthy to want to wish death on someone because of differing basketball opinions. I don't think there's anything really, really twisted about that. Of course, I also believe Babs when he says Hoffa's not a project. I might even use it as a sig.

The one about his friend coming to see him?
My interpretation is that he's saying if a friend/teammate he played with over there wants to play basketball over here, he might rather go to the US, and would prefer not to come to Toronto....unless Toronto offers him a better contract.
But, he says he enjoys living and playing in Toronto.
That's what I got out of it anyways

it's not nice. but i doubt it's the opinion as much as the way it's delivered, imo, that causes the reaction.

Calderon: "If a friend of mine wants to come to the US to see me, maybe he will not travel to Toronto."
I thought this is quite obvious
If a friend of Jose wants to go to US to visit him
of course he wont come to Toronto

Trade him when his value's high, don't risk him being signed by another team next year.

As a Spaniard, I am insulted.
As a lover of women and bullfighting...you are correct in your assessment.
On another note, if Atlanta has a good year, they would be one Jose Calderon signing away from being a very, very good and talented team the following season.

I've never talked about bullfighting although I have ran in front of them....so close enough.
