Hey guys, since I imagine a few of you are from the Toronto area Im looking for some advice.
Im a university student, not alot of coin... looking for cheap tickets and a cheap hotel to crash at.
I realize the Sprite Zone is balls cheap, but listening to the hired help all night drives me insane.
Last time I came down I had beauty seats for a Lakers game and crashed at the Ramada not to far away.
Was a little pricey (Hotel wasnt too bad) ...
But being near the end of the year... im strapped for cash.
Hook me up with some figures/ideas.
Thanks guys.

I consistently see good prices on tickets in the ticket thread on this board. People are very cool about selling their tickets at or often below, face.
Comfort Inn Suites at Jarvis and Dundas are apparently a good place for the price. Not the greatest neighborhood by any stretch but about a 15-20 minute walk to the ACC at most and it really isn't that bad around there...

craigslist and ebay are great places to check too. I've gotten the best prices from craigslist, but since you arent here to meet up beforehand with the sellers, ebay or scalpers might be easier. Or find someone who can email you the tickets.
As for hotels literally ANY hotel in downtown will do, as union station is pretty much the most accessible building in Toronto transportation-wise. If you're looking for the best possible price I would just try priceline.

does priceline deal with canadians? they didn't used to (or you needed an american express card?)... i cant' remember exactly, but they had amazing deals but also big problems dealing with canadians.
bond place is o.k.... i reluctantly stayed there on business recently. bad for business stay, but it would be fine for a weekend of drunken debauchery.

Novotel right by the ACC, just to the east (think its off the esplanade). Not cheap but should be much better than the Ramada (on King, i assume?) iwth lots of nightlife nearby.
Tickets - craigslist, here, and/or off scalpers. Lots of games sell for below face, and at worst just miss the first quarter and FOR SURE get below cost.
