First it was the Cleveland game where he snapped on reporter who asked why he took out Bargnani a few minutes in to the game which was a good and reasonable question...
Then he snapped yesterday again saying "why yall always mention the negatives, yeh we rebounded bad but gimme some positives?"
He needs to cool down I never see him with a smile on his face or happy after a nice win not even last year when we were doiing great in January or February.

That's just the Smitch... He's been like that from day one, through all the losing, the winning, the roads trips, the off season, the everything, that's him.

That's who he is. He plays with the media. Not sure what his precise reason is, but my guess is that he does it to take pressure of his players - if everyone is talking about what crazy ole Sam had to say, then people are less likely to focus on the players' comments.

Smitch can't talk to them rationally anyways.

It's a hard job. Imagine yourself having to sit at the end of each work day and get scrutinized and second guessed for all the world to see. Doesn't matter how much you make, or how long you've been doing it -- it's hard and it's impossible not to take it personally because it's your judgment and ability they're questioning.
Also, all due respect to the reporters, they don't know the game anywhere near as well as the coaches do, and a lot of their questions do seem stupid to the coaches.
That said, I think good coaches (especially good coaches who are good people) learn patience. They also learn that they look better when they dutifully and politely answer questions rather than looking quick tempered or thin skinner.

He made a good point yesterday. We won a game rather easily, yet all of the reporters were focusing only on the negative, rebounding.

I think its because he learned a lot from his first year. He would talk too much in front of them and the next day there would be **** about the raptors in the papers. BC and Smitch handle the media very well IMO and it should stay that way.

I heard the interview with Sam and I said "damn, the same thing's happening in the post game thread".

On the other hand, I'd be a little testy if I had to answer the same dumb questions over and over and over again. Really, if you listen to most of the questions after a game, they are quite predictable.

He's great Wednesday mornings on the FAN. They asked him how can you beat the Sixers tonight?

toronto media are pussies compared to chicago or ny. sam is thin-skinned, no doubt about it. he's also relatively new to the coaching hotseat, however.

Each week contestants attend a Raptor game. The game tape would be edited showing both the good and bad decisions made by the Smitch. In "house" discussions would revolve around those decisions and pro-Smitch and anti-Smitch contestant cliques would be encouraged, by the producers, to argue Raptor strategy.

The Challenges would include:

Given a hypothetical illogical new lineup, try to justify the change in terms of the often stated premise that floor time is earned, not given.

Imitate the hands on the forehead lost look after your team has blown a ten point lead.

Perform a morning Radio interview where you do your best to, in a humourous manner, make the hosts sound like idiots.

Act as a post game media hack trying to ask a question where the Smitch doesn't rip you to pieces.

And the final challenge, tape of actual post game questions will be played where contestants try to mimic the Smitch's contempt for stupidity.

au contraire...our media is soft..sams just overely wack and has no pr skills.he cant defend himself because he doesnt know what hes doing himself.so he snaps.

Sam is arrogant and classless. And when you take into consideration that he is among the worst coach in NBA history, it becomes pretty pathetic that he is acting like that.

Whats wrong with pointing out their rebounding issues? You would think he would do like other good coaches who say "despite winning, i'm not satisfied with the way we played. We played poorly, etc. We need to play better" BUT NO, Sam has to act like an idiot and use the excuse that they won(against bad teams of course) and forget about rebounding. That is yet another reason why they are not improving at all.
