Active players who could become coaches

Anthony Parker: After washing out in his first try in the NBA, Parker headed overseas, playing in Italy and Israel, where he won a Euroleague title with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Having signed a three-year deal with the Raptors in the July 2006, Parker, the brother of Tennessee women's hoops star Candace Parker, has been instrumental in turning Toronto from a laughingstock into a playoff threat.
"He has an interesting variety of experiences," Wallace said. "He had to crawl to get himself back in the league, and he played in two different countries abroad, so he would have a unique perspective on how to deal with international players."
Interesting read, but do you really feel Parker has the interest in coaching in the future?

AP maybe, but I feel he might be too nice to be a coach. I think of all the Raps, Caldy would make a great coach, if his English is good enough that is.

I have no idea whether he has an interest or not because I've never heard him talk about it. He is for the most part a fundamentally sound player who understands how play the game which is a big part about being a coach. Wasn't some of the Toronto media saying that Darrick Martin is on his way to becoming a coach in the league? If he's capable, I'm sure AP is too.
I think John Stockton would've made a pretty good coach. As for current players, I'd say players like PJ Brown, Steve Nash and Matt Harpring could also coach.

John Stockton would be amazing coach but I think he's happy being out on the farm with his family.
I doubt we'll ever see him involved in the NBA again, but I guess you never know.

One of the new randoms on Full Court Press (Edge 102.1 guy?) threw out that Kidd was going to be a great head coach one day.

Very rarely do great players turn into great coaches. It's usually the bench warmers and second fiddles who have success in the coaching ranks.
That said, I think Michael Curry has decent potential tobecome a coach.
