If Milwakee is having a fire sale...would you bring back CV?

He was productive at the 3. And I was always realy excited about seeing Bargs, CV and Bosh play together. A versatile 6'11+ front court.

There would be some defensive liabilities man D, but in a zone they'd be tough.

He's buried on the bench in Milwakee and would likely cost some cap space, a 1st round pick and a prospect (Roko).

Would you do it?

No way.

There's a reason why CV is not getting a lot of playing time on a sub 500 team.

We might be able to get him for cheaper than that. I'd do something like Graham + Dixon + Garbojosa, and we take back Gadzuric's contract for them. Milwaukee might just accept that.

Well my answer is largely based on the question

"How much?"

CV is an asset, and if we can add an asset in exchange for something of less value to our team then my all means.

Would I trade our 2009 1st and Roko for him?

No.

Simply because Roko fills a need we will have next season, and a 1st round pick at this point has the potential to have more functional value then another talented PF/SF on this team.

But lets say the deal was something like an expiring contract like Juan Dixon and say Giorgos Printezis,

That may be a different story?

CV was insanely overrated as a Raptor. The way his skills were hyped to no end on this board while ignoring all of his deficiencies and just assuming that he would improve on them was a nice precursor to the Bargs treatment.

Would I take him back? Sure, if we can give them Martin, Dixon, Graham and other bench fodder. No way in hell do I give them Roko+ 1st round pick

If the Bucks are having a fire sale there are at least 5 guys I'd want a head of CV.

LOL at the though of both Bargs and CV in the front court at the same time.

We could make it into those NBA commercials

CV is soft and doesn't play defense.

This works only if the Bucks take back some of our useless scrubble.

Another PF. Soft. Doesn't always play hard. Doesn't defend. Prefers to stay on the perimeter.

Unless he was virtually given away, CV is pretty much exactly what this team doesn't need.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

its clear to most Raptor fans as to what the team needs.

but...and this is not a knock....I don't think our level of clarity is on par with BC's level of clarity.

anyways, CV3 is not what the team needs. been there, done that.

I'd try to get Bogut before Redd, CV or any other player on MIL.

Redd is not a max player in my eyes, CV while being a fan favourite doesn't/wouldn't have a role here and Yi would make Bargs redundent (some already feel he is redudent to Bosh anyways.)

Bogut would give is our double double center of the future. He's playing better D this year and is avg'ing quite a few blocks a game. Seems to have improved his weakside shot blocking also.

I'd do it. Sam is the perfect coach for CV. CV has shown he can play, but injuries, a trade, and his own poor production vs Yi has killed his career in Mil.

He should be the first big off the bench on this team, so he's no good to us unless we get rid of Hump and Rasho (if we keep Bargs starting C). Hump and him would be killer together, but I'm not sure there are enough minutes for Bosh/Bargs/Hump/CV every game.

But a second line of Hump/CV/Delfino/Kapono/Jose is balanced and pretty awesome I think.

Agreed on all that you say, but how would we get Bogut unless its straight up for Bargs? I'd do it, but I can't see us pulling that off.

I believe that Bogut & Yi are the only non treadeable assets they have.
The only way they'd trade Bogut is for CB4, and that's not happening.

I'd love to see him here, but...

and to get back to the OP, no I would not get CV back (although I really like him as a person).

We would only trade for CV if we only had to give up scrubs, and the Bucks would prefer to take scrubs from virtually any other team if that's all they could get for CV... it's too much of an admission of a lost trade to send him back to TO.

I love Bogut. I still think there is more potential in him but even if this it I'd jump at the chance to grab him

If he's ok with being a bench player, sure. It also depends on what we have to give up, and if we're giving up important assets to trade for CV, then just forget it; our team has much more pressing needs.
