Interesting option at SG: Desmond Mason?

Rumors are flying high that Milwaukee is having a fire sale, so why dont the Raptors jump in and pry away a guy like Desmond Mason. Sure Michael Redd would be nice but i dont think the Raptors have enough talent to pry away Redd, however Desmond Mason on the other hand is a good player and i think we can get him for cheap, he will definitely be an upgrade over Parker/Moon...he is an alright shooter, and a great slasher and he is a type of guy that fans love to watch because of his intensity and high flying game, his defence isnt bad either. If there is a one realistic option out there that fits the bill, its Desmond Mason!! Juan Dixon + Joey Graham works, or maybe we can send them Garbojsa if they are interested? GET IT ON BC!!!!

I don't think he is and he can't shoot so BC won't want him ... not an upgrade IMO

Sorry he can't shoot worth a lick.

Eh, I'd pass on Mason. He's a poor shooter, and he's not the slasher or defender he used to be. His athleticism isn't the same as it was say 3 years ago and it's reduced his effectiveness while slashing. Also not a fan of his contract.
Mason of a few years ago would have been a great pickup, not now.

Michael Redd is the only Buck I'd like on our team.
He would give us the 'Rip Hamilton' option that we're sorely lacking.

Sorry but I don't see a significant difference between Moon and Mason. Redd is the only realistic player that we can get and would want from their team

And please don't ever list Mason as a Shooting Guard... It just doesn't seem right

I'd also accept Yi

.... but that ain't happening.
Ideally, Redd is the best fit for our team.
Rasho, expirings and some picks could work if the bucks are really looking to dump salary

If I'm a Bucks fan and we're on the way to giving up our #1 player, you can bet they're looking at acquiring a piece they can use for the future.
How about this?

To the Bucks
Joey
Juan
Bargs
Rasho
To the Raps
Redd
Gadzuric

So our starting lineup is Gads/Bosh/Moon/Redd/Jose? Thats really not that good. Redd is another second tier franchise player like Bosh, but neither one can defend at a high level. And we still have no scoring inside as Gads is simply an athlete, and really not that good.
We wouldn't we just let Bargs mature into a great scorer ala Redd? He's a lot cheaper.
Sorry man don't mean to rain on your parade.
EDIT: On topic, Dez Mason had the best game of his life against us earlier this year and still wasn't that great. He's Jamario Moon with a bigger deal. Before we had Moon he woulda been OK, but why now?

Raps could never make that trade.
Bargs and Rasho?
That leaves you with absolutely noone at center. Gadzuric is a schlub and Humphries... although I love the guy... is not ready to be a starter.

As for Mason,
as everyone stated, hes just not the type of guy we need. Moon is more athletic, a better shot blocker, a better defender, a better rebounder, ect.

Yeah, I just slapped that idea together, but I figured with all the ferocious anti-bargs sentiment on this board, this trade proposal would actually be quite well-received in these parts.
People are looking to get rid of the worst rebounding center of all-time, so here's a way to do it.

Bargs for Bogut would be nice

Although still, I want to see Bargs develop first.
But Bogut is still a good interior player. He'd be the ying to boshs yang.

You guys are definitely better off keeping AP as your starting 2.
Mason is nothing special IMO.

He couldn't work in Milwaukee, what makes you think he'll work here?

Why would the Bucks do this? It results in a big-time logjam at the 4-5 position with Rasho, Bargs, Charlie, Yi and Bogut. 4 of these guys are young up-and-coming bigs who need 25-30 minutes of playing time.
I don't see the Bucks do this at all, as for the Raps, it seems to me that it could be a very decent deal. A lineup of:
Gadz-Hump
Bosh
Moon
Redd
Calderon-Ford
bench: Parker, Delfino, Kapono, Ford (Caldy), Hump (Gadz)
would be near the best in the east.

Mason is definitely NOT an upgrade on Parker/Moon. He's not nearly the defensive player or rebounder that Moon is and he's a poor outside shooter.
Mason has been overrated for years due to his leaping ability.
