I mean I think it's become quite clear that Bargnani can't be the center of the future alongside Bosh everyone(including myself) was hoping for. He honestly probably is the worse rebounder I have ever seen. Sorry but no up and coming franchise, hoping to one day contend for titles, could survive with this guy playing center everynight(especially on a team that is relatively soft and bad at rebounding to begin with) . Unfortunately I've even seen stats that prove Bargnani may be the worse rebounder of all-time! (ouch)

And no, this isn't a trade Bargnani thread, giving up on him now would be stupid, a huge waste, and get us little in return. It's time we realistically consider moving him to the 3. I know, i know, we've heard and talked about this before, how Bargnani is too slow and awkward, and how he would have trouble keeping up with opposing 3's. However, putting Bargnani at SF would allow him to park out at the 3pt line (where he's most comfortable) without having to worry about rebounding and other aspects of "being a center". Plus, you could always play a 2-3 zone (add another talented piece at the 5, who is really a 5) with potentially three 7 footers as your frontcourt, sound alot more imposing?

Enough is enough. Instead of starting a new thread dealing with the issues - try finding one of the 20 or so that have gone up over the last few days griping about Bargs' rebounding.

it could happen. Jose is one the best PG's in the league. Teams like Atlanta would do it straight up. It's a gamble I would take on a good center. Don't foget Grizzlies traded Shareef Abdur Rahim for a top 5 pick and they landed future franchise player Pau Gasol.

sure that sounds convenient......but 1# overall pick for a scoring PF off the bench who can't rebound, defend, or play big? I DON'T THINK SO!

Can we afford to trade Jose considering how often TJ is injured? What happens if TJ has another scare and decides that it is not worth coming back next time?

Consider TJ's injury history the past 12 months. What happens if we trade Calderon and he goes down again in the playoffs?

IMO before this latest injury trading Calderon seemed inevitable. His performance as a starter and TJ's recurring stingers give me second thoughts.

It's not that the raps should give up on him, they should give up on him as being the go to scorer type (Right now). Before Dirk became "The Man" he played third fiddle to Nash and Finley. Two great vets who took him under their wing and showed him how to take over a game. Bargs doesn't have that yet... I think toronto needs to find a decent perimeter scorer who can teach Bargs and consistently make space for Bosh.

Giving up on Bargs would be what Portland did with Jermaine Oneal...

Aren't you giving up on Andrea a bit too soon ? its been a season and a half.
When you say play big what do you mean ? do you even know what you're trying to say. Andrea is a decent defender from point of view and I believe he's a damn good job of holding his own considering his injuries and inconsistency of Sam mitchell.

I disagree with everything you've said in this thread from putting him to the 3 and not having to worry about rebounding ? how about the total rebounding woes of the team ?

I think putting him at the 3 would be the worst thing Sam mitchell could do at this point !!!

I don't think that's an accurate recounting of the history of the Mavs.
