Can't believe the Heat get a do-over, but we didn't.

WOW!

This is huge. I'll bet their negligence in the Raptors game (re:TJ's phantom hoop) played a role in the decision.

The Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat must replay the final 51.9 seconds of their game last month because the NBA said the official scorer ruled incorrectly that Shaquille O'Neal fouled out.

This will be the first time since 1982 the league has sent teams back on the court for a replay.

So they have to replay a game because someone fouled out that might have scored or done something to change the outcome of the game... NBA is going overboard to show the games arent fixed. So where's the replay of game 6 of the playoffs vs NJ when Tim Donaghy refereed?

So they get a replay because in case Shaq was still in the game he MIGHT have scored. We don't get a replay even though a basket that we DID score was neglected. How does Miami have a better case than we did last year?

They are only replaying the final 51 seconds.

I say we should replay last year's game from Ford's basket, too, and if we win, replay the 2007 playoffs. Does anyone have a contact number for Uros Slokar???

How the hell is that going to work? how do you get pumped for a game that lasts 51 seconds?

and isnt that the 3rd time now that the hawks scorekeepers have f**ked up somehow over the past year?

Actually, I had him on my Facebook for a while. I probably still do.

Weird thing is, a few months ago I got a notice on my feed page that went something like:

Uros Slokar has removed 'Basketball' from his interests.

lol

Poor Slokie. We broke his fragile Slovenian spirit.

Like it will matter. In fact, this is more of a disservice because the Heat look to be heading out of the playoffs. The more they lose, the better their shot at the lottery.

I find it very suspicious that the Hawks scorekeeper makes another mistake. How many mistakes do they have to do to get fired?

What wouldn't David Stern do to take good care of his son D-Wade. Since the Heat are going to miss the playoffs this season, the Heat will land the number 1 pick for sure. Even if they have the 14th worst record in the NBA and just miss the playoffs, they will jump to first over all pick.

I actually think the NBA should just change the outcome of the game and credit the benefiting team with a loss and the victimized team with a win. It's an incredibly simple solution. Is it harsh? Absolutely. Would it force the Hawks to take a long, hard look at the competency of their score-keeping personnel? You'd better believe it.

Edited to add:

Weren't the Hawks involved in a controversy with the Mavs earlier this season, too? I think their scorekeeping crew has to be under constant surveillance by the league at this point.
