Wow his stats are terrible this year, but I would definitely consider him for a third PG. The problem is acquiring him, I doubt the Sonics would want Earl Watson as their starting PG, they definitely would want to look into Calderon.

You want to pay a 3rd string PG the MLE? (or is his contract more?...don't feel like checking)

Ridnor is not a 3rd string PG. He's either a starter in this league or a backup.
Unless B.C can get him on the cheap, and maybe trade Jose?

do you really think we could afford to be paying our 3rd PG $6.5M per year?

That's a lot of dough locked up at the PG postion especially if you sign Calderon to lets say 7 mill. 7+ TJ's 8, luke's 6.5= 21 million dollars invested solely in the point guard position.

Yeah but you would have an entire game of solid PG play...

I would rather pickup Earl Boykins. No longterm contract, currently a free agent, and much better than Martin. I don't see the problem, especially as a temporary solution.

what the hell happened to this guy. he went from averaging 12 points/7assists and a rising young PG star, to a guy who comes off the bench and gets limited minutes. hes only 25 YO.

too costly for a 3rd stringer, if we do acquire him, one of our current PGs will leave, and that means we'll need a deal sweetner
Chris Wilcox/Jeff Green comes to mind....

Do some research before you post ideas.

People wanted to trade Calderon for Ridnour last year.

Ridnour isn't that bad actually. He was on the rise, but I guess everyone looks bad on a rebuilding team. Once he goes to the Celtics, he will be a Luke Ridnour of the old with better stats. He takes care of the ball, doesn't turn the ball.
I heard he has a serious injury.

I love ridnours game and I have no idea why he's riding so much pine in seattle. Unfortunately, if we get Ridnour it probably means we're gonna trade Jose. I mean do you honestly think someone with Ridnour's talent would want to take up derrick martin's role?
