When will you realize the importance of the 06 draft?

I still don't think many of you understand how important that draft was. You don't always end up with the #1 pick. That move had the potential to push this team closer to contender status...or set this team in middle ground limbo/back for years.
When you have a pick like that, you have to consider all options and be 100 percent dead sure of what you're gonna get, or else you're going to be burned. When B.C says give Bargnani 5 years..do some of you honestly believe that Bryan Colangelo believes in his heart that Andrea is going to be on the level of a Roy, Aldridge, Gay? It's called saving face people..stop being naive. You can say thnat the draft was weak, but that's nothing but a weak excuse. There are still going to be 4 (depending on T Thomas, who I still believe will be a defensive/rebounding force in this league) impact players. Why didn't we end up with one of them?
As I sit here watching this team in over-time, I can't help but shake my head at the fact that Bargnani is stuck on the bench..rotting.
Start looking at the real reasons for why Bargnani was drafted. Why wias Gherardini brought in months before the draft? It was OBVIOUS that B.C had his mind set on taking Bargnani months in advance. He even tried trading down so the pick would look more justified (and act as insurance incase Bargnani ended up playing the way he is right now).
Andrea Bargnani when it's all said and done is going to fall in the Kwame Brown, Kandi Man category when it comes to first overall picks. I think he'll end up being a useful player and obviously much better than the Kandi man..but as far as 1st overall picks, that's where he will stand. Some of you are going to be inclined to ask me why I didn't bold Bogut. Let's not kid ourselves, Bogut is a solid rebounder, who defends and can score inside.
