I just love both teams and the young studs we both have developing and I ask myself and you, is this the future two dynasty teams of the NBA 2-3 years down the road?
To me I can see some finals showdowns between these two teams when all the young players are developed and new additions are made along the way.
A great and exciting future is ahead for Portland and Toronto

And Outlaw and Webster and Frye who's solid off the bench and Jack.

The future is definitely between the Blazers, Knicks and ourselves.

no not toronto, atleast not with bargnani at center, i love calderon, but in todays game in the first overtime he hit what everyone thought was a three to make it 104-101 but when they showed the replay it was very clear that his foot was on the line and that portland should have won the game after the first overtime. i know the rest of the game would have been different but im just saying that it was a horrible call by the officials especially that late in the game.

current heated rivalries:
Boston-Detroit
San Antonio - Dallas
San Antonio - Phoenix
Cleveland - Miami
LA Lakers - Phoenix
as for future rivalries, I can definitely see Toronto getting up there with a dynasty-status type of team, although we have serious flaws with development at the 5 and 2, we'll make a lot of noise in the east compared to the others
future rivalries/dynasty matchups I can see Toronto being in:
Toronto - Chicago
Toronto - Miami
Toronto - Milwaukee
Toronto - Atlanta
Toronto - Utah
Toronto - Seattle
Toronto - Portland (as per the OP)

Im not arguing about Portland I think they are heading places down the road but I disagree we only have one good young player who is developing. I put Bosh, Jose, TJ, Bargs, Humphries, Kapono, Delfino all int he young and still progressing as players and as teammates and I also see draft picks and future cap spacde for the raptors.
Our future is looking nothing short of great. We won 47 games last year and this year we continue our good play while wacko raptor fans fail to relize we have faced the hardest schedule in the NBA and still are three games above .500 with a team full of young developing players.
Portland-Raptors are waiting in the wings, as the pistons, celtics and spurs all get older the raptors will become one of if not the best team in the east.

Nah, we look to be a solid team for now and the near future. Nowhere near contender, just a 1st round, 2nd round, or if we're lucky and get the right matchups one day make it to the ECF.
Portland is already better than us, once they get Oden and their inner core keeps growing together, this team is going to be an abosolute force.

Oh we get it, your customary pathetic sarcasm which was more funny for your stupidity than your wit by putting the Knicks in our class.
Let me guess, to you our future is dark and grim

Our team's average age is 27 years, putting us 27th in the league. Portland is the youngest team in the league, followed by Seattle, Atlanta, Golden State, Utah...

I like Portland a lot... We're supposed to be ahead in our development than Portland, yet they're even and maybe even better than us if you include Oden.. And they have a brighter future with their ridiculous talent... Oden and Aldridge are locks to be All-Stars in the future, Roy is already an All-Star, Outlaw and Webster have extremely high potential, maybe All-Star caliber as well since they're so young... Frye can develop into a solid role player, Blake can be a solid PG... they have all the pieces if they stay the course...
We have a solid team as well, although obviously we have a lot of question marks... I definitely think we can be the future of the East along with Atlanta and Orlando as all the other good to mediocre teams are getting up there in age...
BC needs to get some more talent in quick, outside of Bargs, Bosh, TJ, and Jose, if he wants to keep up... a better coach in the future wouldn't hurt as well...
