With last years success, I think a lot of people didn't take the time to notice what it was that made us such a great (regular season) team. I say this because a lot of people on this forum have mentioned many different reasons, why we are having a slightly disapointing season thus far.
Im not going to say those reasons are wrong, because who am I to say they are? But I do feel that something very important is being overlooked, by most if not all on this forum.
Does anyone remember this play from last year:
Step 1: Point Guard takes ball down court, all players are around the perimeter, except Bosh who is down low.
Step 2: Point Guard tosses ball down to Chris Bosh
Step 3: Bosh takes ball to hole. (If Bosh is double teamed see Step 4)
Step 4: Bosh tosses ball to open player around perimeter, ball is swung to open player for either an open shot, or an easy drive to basket due to mis-position defender.
We ran this play almost every trip down the court, and led to open shots, and great offencive flow. In combination with the Pick and Role/Pick and Pop, we had a very simple but extreamly effective offence partly because of the good shooters on our team, but also because we took advantage of our players' above average Basketball IQ and ability to pass.
Now here is the kicker, the last two games, Bosh and Co. have been running this offence a lot more often, although not as often as last year, it has lead to two wins.
JMHO...What do you guys think?

only difference in the last two games is that bosh is actually TAKING IT TO THE HOLE. if he plays outside and takes outside shots, he wont get double teamed and the offense fails.

Teams aren't closing down Moon, and would rather have him shoot the jumpshot which he is apparently more than happy to take.

That is a good point, do you think the fact that Bosh was not taking it to the hole resulted in him not getting doubled...Thus resulting in no open shot from players on the perimeter?

I've seen the more CB takes it inside he attracts 2 or 3 defenders and usually opens it up for the outside shooters. It is working now because Bosh is actually going to the Hole.
I also noticed that Bosh can break the double team, he can sometimes go through them. He uses his quickness and ends up with foul or gets a 3 point play.

I think so, he said it himself that his Foot or knee is not bothering him anymore. Also I think he's just learning to keep doing it. I think he recognizes that in order for them to win games he has to go to the hole when the pressure is on. also I think Sam & coaches have been on him to go inside.

I like one particular play that works great between Jose and Bosh.. They seem to run it quite often in late game scenarios..
1- Jose feeds the ball to Bosh and they clear the side
2- Moon then cuts around Bosh and goes running from behind him on the other side of the Basket just outside the paint
3- Jose redirects the shooters to create spacing and stands behind the 3 pt-line on top of the Key..
4- AP goes to his trademark corner spot
5- The 5th player (whomever it happens to be) takes a spot on the left elbow
6- Bosh posts up and his first notion is to take it to the basket, if he can, he does it. If he can't and is doubled/trippled, he kicks out to Jose who usually hits that money 3 pt shot.
I didn't notice this particular one last year. Last year we saw a variation of it where Jose would be the one standing ont he left elbow and would swing the ball to the open corner shooter. This year, Jose has been placed rather straight in line with the basket for him to take that open shot. I like this one and works really well between Jose and Bosh.

Yeah I am familiar with this play, its basically just a clear out play. But it is successful.
I think it just goes to show, how important Bosh is to our team. People really do not appreaciate what he does for our team. I think it is because he is not a ball hogging wing player. Big men really draw defences and makes the entire offence smoother because of it. Problem is Big men need wings and guards to feed them the ball. Which doesn't always happen.

I think its safe to say that with Calderon, his first priority is always feeding Bosh.. people might hate Jose for being pretictable, passive and unagressive, but he ALWAYS goes first to Bosh.. some people might find this half-court offence boring, but it does open up the floor for our shooters as Bosh is always willing to share the ball.
