Chris Bosh budding SUPERSTAR

Post#1 » by cdel00 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 4:30 pm

His play since the west coast road trip has been spectacular and he's put the Raps on his back on many occasions. I'd like to take the time to applaud his effort on the court his awesome personality off the court and everything in between. We are so lucky to have him as our franchise player as he makes watching the Raps so enjoyable.

Keep it up Chris and the MVP chants at the ACC will be deafening!

I'll second that for sure.

I am especially impressed with him not shying away from his inside game... even in overtime when everyone knew what he was going to do.

Nice to see him establish himself as a power with a young team like Portland. They are going to be good for some time to come. Mind you Oden is not in the picture yet.

I am very pumped to see Bosh face LBJ. I know he has his work cut out for him but in the end David did slay Goliath. Maybe Bosh+team can inject some much needed humility into LBJ life.

I'll agree that his presence as of late has been phenomenal but I wouldn't consider him an MVP candidate just yet, if he keeps this level of play up for the next few months.

Its funny, just last week Chris was a borderline starter. Things sure change quickly around here!

The guy has always been able to get either to the basket, or the foul line pretty much any time he wants. If he goes to the rim as much as he has been, pulls down 10+ baords, and keeps improving his defence like he has he is definitly superstar worthy.

I think you got Contenderized, only one poster has that opinion... and when you hear it is a good assumption that it is Contender or a fan boy from Italy.

I think most true Raptor fans know what they have in Bosh, not that this precludes us from questioning his shot selection... more so when he settles for jumpers against smaller defenders.

Agreed. Bosh has been fantastic this year, he's improved in all aspects of his game. Especially his defense.

His FG% is down, but that's due to him not being able to get his jumper going consistently. If he can get his jumper back to normal form, watch out.

You better hope Contender doesn't see this thread. That guy goes out of his way to bash Bosh at any and every opportunity. But yes, I think he is eating crow lately- Bosh has been magnificent.

Ive posted my fair share of Bosh criticisms - but he has been simply speculator since the road trip. Also notice that he is almost never using that awful Jumper anymore, all his points are from drives and foul shots - exactly how everyone wants him to play.

You guys just realized Chris Bosh is one of the top 10 players in the NBA?

LOL three great games by Bosh and everyone is back on the bandwagon.

I'll reserve my judgement when the playoffs begin.

lol! You have to remember how fickle most Raptor fans can be!

Bosh has always been the least of my concerns; even when he's struggling, I believe he has earned the benefit of the doubt. His recent play doesn't surprise me, because every Raptor fan knows what the guy is capable of.

Bosh, when healthy, is arguably a top 10 player in the league. We're lucky to have him.

Three weeks ago, you would've been flamed for this thread.

1 week exactly and he wasn't a superstar, or an all star or a franchise player and this week he is right back in everyone's heart...I never hate on Chris even when he has bad games because he has too much heart and character to quit..and sometimes I actually hope he has a **** game because he always bounces back twice as good..he went against a very good athletic and long frontcourt yesterday and absolutely killed them. He has been playing amazing ball this last week

top 10 in the NBA? i dont think so...
Kobe, Nash, Gilbert, Wade, Duncan, TMac, Yao, KG, Pierce, Lebron, Baron Davis, Chris Paul, and many other borderlines are ahead of Chris.
top 20 in the NBA? i think it'd be hard to disagree there... or the arguement could almost certainly be made...

do i think he's better than he's given credit for on this board? most definately... but he's not Wade, and he never will be Wade. Even Roy has the chance to become more of a "superstar" than Bosh - unfortunately he's playing up in Canada, where his exposure will always be limited and his impact understated... but Chris is a modest superstar, and i think he prefers it this way.

Yea, makes me shake my head too.

But it's not surprising considering how many people wanted to trade Bosh and build around Bargnani last year and CV the year before.

what people forget is that he had to dela with foot and knee injuries in the first couple of months. that affected his game and prevented him from attacking the rim constantly. now i see him attacking the rim on a constant basis and only taking jumpers when he is wide open. that's what we need from him and he has been doing this lately. imagine if he keeps putting 25+ points and raptors winning, he will be in the MVP discussions like last year.

The only one I would disagree with is Yao, and I would add Baron Davis to that list. It's really hard to compare players of other positions.
