Saw this on the general board. Not a good day for both NBA and realgm.
However, it's said that he had a successful surgery (and prostate cancer is very much treatable).
You can send Nene your get well wishes at:

Amazing how all the threads about hate get to like 20 pages yet this thread only has one response. I guess I'm one of the only ones that sees this as big news. Get well soon Nene.

Nothing serious. I've known a couple of people who have been diagnosed with this. They got surgery to get it removed and were back to normal in a couple of weeks.

that's an exaggeration. cancer is cancer. if it's not treated right and eliminated before it spreads it can still be fatal. glad that nene's surgery was successful.

Ok, I'm not going to get mad at you because it's not your fault you're ignorant on the topic.
However, a very close family member of mine passed away when his prostate cancer spread to several other major organs, despite an early prognosis of "treatable".
Cancer is always serious.

Yes. Your prostate produces the clear fluid which is an energy source for a mans sperm. It would decrease his chances of impregnating a woman, but won't make it impossible and even still their will be the artificial methods.

Remember - no matter how much it sucks, get your prostate checked every few years. It can save your life.

Nba should care much more about use of anabolic steroids.
