Raptor Grades from TSN

Pretty Decent.
Calderon doesn't deserve an A+. He's having an amazing season but his defence is TERRIBLE, one of the worst defenders on the team. If you can't defend, you don't deserve an A+.
And I don't buy the argument that Darrick Martin's counselling garners him a B-...but i've discussed my hatred for Martin too many times.

I wont be the dude who says JC has a nice defense, but imo most of you does not see he usually lose his enemy beacuase he tries to help in the paint and have 2 vs 1 defense. The bad thing of this help is you will get attacked by the perimeter easily but in the other hand, you will help your team around the paint, something that is needed due the soft centers we have.
His man to man defense has improved last 5 games imo.
There are worst defenders than JC. He is decent overall imo.

But he doesn't really help underneath, he collapses but stays in the 'inbetween' area and doesn't commit either way. Then his guy leaks out and Calderon loses him for a wide open 3 pointer.
Moon, Bosh, Parker, Nestorovic, Humphries, Delfino, Baston, Dixon, Ford are all better defenders.
That leaves Bargnani, Martin, Kapono...tough competition...

Agree totally. At best Jose (who I think is playing very stellar ball atm) deserves an A-.

Bosh gets an A-? He's practically carrying this team over a large stretch of the season. He should get an A+ for effort alone. The justification by the author is that he doesn't drive:
But what the Mofo is forgetting is that we're asking Bosh to defensive rebound, offensive rebound, box out two men and score. The man needs to pace himself to some degree and can't really afford to drive on EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY, he'll die of exhaustion if he does. Now I'm the biggest critic of Bosh when it comes to taking jumpers but he's been really good at not settling of late. If the author actually watched the Raptor games with more than just a rudimentary knowledge of the game or actually played at some level, he'd learn that he needs to give Bosh a ******* break.
Bosh has been as guilty as anyone on the team of being too passive and relying on the jump shot.

Martin's coaching abilities must be the biggest myth on this team. How can he be doing anything positive for our PGs when you see what he does when he's actually on the floor. He acts more like a guy who just wants to get his shots up before he goes to the bench than a guy who's looking to run the team. I still don't get why he's still around.
