Nuggets interested in Jose?

They could certainly use a point guard to keep this machine oiled, and it's not clear how they are going to get one. Word is they would like Jose Calderon, who is an All-Star caliber point who might like to run his own team instead of splitting time in Toronto with T.J. Ford. Or, imagine this class A irony ... one of the only key Nuggets who does not have an exceedingly long contract (and is therefore more tradable) is Allen Iverson.

I don't know if there is anyone on that team that would fit with the Raps, maybe Camby, but he is injury prone.

Jose is restricted and isn't going anywhere.

Thanks but no thanks. It doesn't make sense to acquire Iverson and as for Camby, trading an asset like Jose Calderon for an injury-prone player like him is a risk you simply don't take, no matter how much it might help your club's rebounding needs.

You know that responding at all just adds fuel to the fire. Ignore the posts rather than have 1-2 smiley answers. - TD

How about Campy, Jr Smith and Linas Klieza for TJ Ford, Rasho, Joey and Dixon...

TJ in some package for Iverson could make sense but not Jose.

I love it how quick some people would trade for Iverson. He's 32 now and has how many decent seasons ahead of him?

I could see Denver's logic - looking at Washington playing a damn sight better without Gilbert Arenas makes you reflect on how hard it can be to integrate multiple stars. Actually, this clip today is very revealing about Denver's internal workings, and makes you wonder whether Iverson and Carmelo together just won't work.

George Karl tells Dave Krieger of the Rocky Mountain News that the Nuggets are a handful for a coach: "'We have a lot of All-Star caliber players, and usually, fitting talent together creates ego adjustments,' he said. 'I think that's where we're at right now. It's just a high-maintenance day a lot of nights. As I keep telling Pop, he doesn't live in the NBA. He's got a low-maintenance deal.' That would be Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who has the luxury of a team policed by Tim Duncan, its biggest star."

J.R. Smith - Are you insane?

I deliberately started that thread last night with people like you in mind.

I would rather have Campy than Iverson... we need rebounding and shot blocking more than scoring.

Iverson? Yeah but what about "PRACTICE"

Not enough oxygen in Denver for Jose, he wouldn't be able to maintain his pointy sideburns!!

What a frigging albatross that Nene contract is.

They have nothing and i mean nothing that we need
The only person i would want would be Carmelo and thats not happening

Nene's under contract through 2010-2011, making healthy money. He's even got an 11.6 million player option for the 2011-2012 season! :o

One thing that's glaringly clear this year is that we need Jose on this team. DON'T GET 'ER DONE BC!

Isn't Eduardo Najera still on that team? I'm not saying trade Jose for Najera, but I think he would be the only player from Denver who would benefit the Raps most and fit in relatively easily (both salary-wise and character-wise).
