Andrea Bargnani Thread(ESPN: 'might be Matt Bonner' pg 86)

Last year this team over achieved, teams play us differently this season, expectations are way too high now, especially for Bargs. Everyone needs to chill out and remember that WE ARE NOT supposed to be a really good team until years 3-5 or BC's plan.
It's evident even if Bargs does develop into an above average Centre, we still need that consistent slashing SG/SF to be a dominant team, not some diamond in the rough like Moon. More like a young star.
Gay or Roy would have been a nice addition to this team. We would have basically been set through our 1-4 spots. Then we would be looking for our future C, and having Rasho/Humphs wouldn't have been so bad.
I still think Bargs will be a good player in the L, but looking at those 2 sophomores, I can't help but think our team would have been set with a big 3 of Bosh/Roy/Calderon, and having AP and Rasho/Humph as options 4 and 5 would have been a top team in the East.
In the end, Bargs will be a better player than he is now, everybody has to be patient with him

You said alot of things, but none of it explained why Bargnani will be better. There are serious questions that are starting to come out with Bargnani, especially questions about his desire to work on his game. The league has seen many talented players who have flopped because they didn't have the work ethic. Hopefully Bargnani doesn't become the Tin Man.

So umm.... why will Bargnani develop again?

I'm still a big Bargs supporter, but this is the fifth Bargs-related thread on the first page of this forum.
Perhaps the Mods should sticky a general Bargnani Thread and start cleaning things up around here.

Bargnani is in love with his money and has no motivation right now.
This is just speculation.

Yup.
I still see the same talent and potential I have always seen in him.
For some reason he is not allowed to make mistakes like other players. Sure Bosh deserves to be allowed to play through bad games. He did that for the first half of games played so far this season. But what has Moon done to deserve that more than Bargs? Now, don't get me wrong. I love Moon as well and like that he is allowed to play through gaffs - silly turnovers, ill advised shots etc... But Bargs gets no slack from Smitch.
Bargnani's defense is much better this year. And is a fair bit better than Bosh's. He looks to get other players involved when he has the ball. This is a great thing in the flow of the offense. But he gets the ol' hook so quick and so often that he has to be second guessing everything he does on the floor. How is he supposed to get into any kind of rhythm?
If Bargs had been drafted to a rebuilding team, and had the chance to play through his mistakes and learn, I bet there would be all-star talk about him this year, or next for sure.
Bargnani is a big part of our future.

His one-on-one low post defence looks decent this year, but it looked decent last year too. His help defence is still atrocious though. For a guard coming into the paint, they're either getting a free layup or drawing a foul.

I see potential and talent and all the spicy goodness in him. I'm just not liking his season thus far.

I hate Bargnani. Number one hater actually. How many times must one fail at such simple tasks before being declared a bust?

Just cause his facial expression doesnt say it it doesnt mean he has no heart.

sam mitchell doesnt like him. plain and simple. he rather play maceo baston. obviously BC ain't having that. and that is why SAM is still our coach/puppet.
as long as Bargs keeps trying on defense, I'll support him.
and theres 6-7 threads on this topic alone. couldnt you? wouldnt you ?

He's not allowed to make mistakes? All he does is make mistakes!

So much Bargs thread but I'll bite. Although he is not producing with the likes of Roy and gang he still has the potential. Call it instinct but some of the things he does (ie. passes) makes me think he could be a good player in this league. All he needs to do is make it more consistent.... that and rebound.

Being an NBA starting center is a simple task now?
