to each his own. i would boo simply because the situation cost us a key player for 2 months. plus maybe it will throw the rook of his game, he has been a great contributer from the hawks so boo and boo some more.

Or it may backfire and more people will call this team "soft"

Bad intent or Malice should always be booed. Bad judgment should not. A handshake would simply say I respect you & know that you meant no harm & would probably benefit both players

joeyt618 wrote:Our own fans are starting to boo Bargnani for goodness sake, so I have no problem with our fans booing Horford. Is it a nice thing to do to a young rookie who made a reckless mistake? Not really... but that's the advantage of having our team play at home. The point is to create the most hostile environment as possible for the visiting team.

We're always criticizing our players for not being tough and standing up for their teammates, and yet, we want our fans to be nice and polite to the oppsoing team? Although this kind of behaviour from fans can be somewhat considered as abhorrent, this is why it's so intimidating for opposing teams to step into stadiums like Fenway or MSG - in the past anyway. Their fans are relentless.

we should be booing the opposing teams players everytime anyway . this is basketball, this is a sport. theres no sense in making oppenents feel comfortable in our own building wheres the logic? i understand what happened but regardless he should be booed anyway.

You guys have a very nice environment at ACC. I love to watch games there. I don't think there's anything wrong if some fans decide to boo Horford. That's part of the game. Fans can express their thoughts in that way. I hope we all can have fun at the game and hopefully everyone will be healthy and fine by the time it's over.
GO HAWKS.

Some will boo, some won't. Simple as that. It'll be as scattered as the responses in this thread.

He's an opposing player that took out 1 of our starters. You don't go to cheer him.

I think Horford is enemy #2 at the ACC next to Vince Carter. I do not think that booing him is classless at all. Fans are allowed to cheer and boo at the stadium whenever they wish; booing is an acceptable way to express your discontent at a sporting event. Its not like we are asking people to throw stuff at him or hurl really harmful insults. If there is no booing, it basically says 'hey you knocked our key player out for 2 months, but whatever'. Raptor fans should boo Horford, especially if it puts him off his game and get us a W!!!
