Didn't he recently get angry about reporters continually asking about negative things, even though the team is winning games?
Now I'm all for being objective, but the continual focus on negativity is something that really irritates me about some of this cities media.

he did get mad recently. i'm not sure the reporter was being negative, however, just by questioning whether the team had done a good job defending the three. sam could have been quietly professional about it and answered that the kings have some good shooters who are going to make their shots and we did hold them to 91 points so the raps are happy with their defensive effort. and if he'd said that, none of the reporters would have bothered to write down his answer.

word, the focus on negativity is really becomin a problem.. sam's right about bibby and martin hittin threes cause their great players
but i kinda see where the reporters are coming from.. gaurding the arc has been a problem sometimes with us as seen in cleveland earlier this season but that was hardly the case yesterday

Actually, it's not fair of me to lay it solely at this cities media's feet. It's a prevailing mindset that we continually want to rip others down, and it really bugs the crap out of me.
What ever happened to celebrating others success? Are people that unhappy that they continually need to tear others down to feel better about themselves. It's sad really. /rant

lyndon johnson said never let the sons of bitches get you down. or maybe it was nixon. or maybe i made it up. but you get the point. i'm not unsympathetic to your rant -- it's just that sam is no fountain of good will and positive thoughts. he rips the beat grunts every chance he gets. he sneers at them almost daily. they seem to be a good-natured bunch but I think it would get on my nerves

An article written for tomorrow's newspaper when today will be yesterday and yesterday will be two days ago?

It's the relentless pursuit of the media to generate sensational stories. They want juicy controversy, to expose player problems, or on their best day, to find hidden scandal. It's like a predator circling its prey, waiting to exploit the first sign of weakness.

Angst, ire and passion are a great recipe for a news story. It's as if the media knows the questions they ask are going to irritate Smitch. Smitch has calmed down quite a bit from when he first started coaching the Raptors but i'm glad to see his passion and attitude are still there for his team and for himself.
It's hard to be in the public eye but i'll bet smitch is glad he's on a winning team getting hounded.
