Bargs and a shooter for Kaman and he thinks that's not solid? Kaman has been a monster this year. Depending on who that shooter would be, I'd entertain a deal.

Livingston is a pure point guard. I would consider him as one of the leading candidate for the third PG position

That's Smith's opinion, not the Raptors' brass.

What? Where does it say the Raptor's brass is interested in Livingston?

so.. is Doug Smith "hears" something.. it must be from the management brass?

I can't see the Clippers making that move. Kaman is one of the top 5 centres in the league IMO.

The interesting part of Randy is that he plays in a pick and roll system with a quality big in Lance Allred. He has a knack of getting the ball to Lance effectively and many of his assists come from Lance's effective shooting. Of the PGs talked about earlier, Randy seems to be the best option as he has experience in the same system the Raps use and would have no trouble transitioning to the Raps from the D-League. I would also suggest that Randy would be fine vs most second string PGs but would have alot of trouble with top tier PGs who are more athletic than him.

Agree 100% Yuri- though a deal of Kaman, Maggettee and Cassell for Bargs, Jose, Rasho and Kapono works ;)

Food for thought at least.

interesting. But does LA bite. I doubt BC pulls the trigger either. Jose is our second best trading asset right now other than the obvious. With TJ's return up in the air I dont know how comfortable I am having Cassell run the point for 40 minutes a nigth. This trade makes us better immediately but what about in 4 years. Maybe by that time Bargs will have found himself, Jose will be a top 5 PG in the league plus Kaps and Rasho will have expired leaving us room to sign possible FA which is BC's specialty.
I like the trade allot but it is one that could come back to bite us hard in the ASS.

Kaman is quality, young and improving but the Clips love him and I believe they plan on making him into their franchise player.

D-League showcase: Maurice Baker might help a contender at this point

Attention NBA general managers, especially those of you in Cleveland, Boston, Golden State, Toronto and Denver who need help at point guard:

There is a player with the Dakota Wizards, a 6-1 guard out of Oklahoma State named Maurice Baker, who may be the answer to your problems.

Yes, Danny Ferry, you may be setting your sights on Mike Bibby again, but what's your Plan B? and what happens if Plan B and Plan C fail?

And you, Danny Ainge, you may still be publicly denying the obvious, but everyone around the NBA can see you need a ball handler behind Rajon Rondo. If you can't find a way to get Damon Stoudamire, where will you turn next?

And, hey, Chris Mullin, if that Gary Payton backup plan fails after C.J. Watson's next 10-day contract expires, you'll want to read on.

Same with you, Bryan Colangelo, as you contemplate whether Darrick Martin is an adequate insurance policy for the playoffs in case T.J. Ford cannot return.

"He has a huge heart, he's not a great shooter but he is a great clutch shooter, and he's one of the best rebounding guards I've ever seen," said Eric Chapman, the Boise-based director of the Chapman Report, a scouting and consulting service that tracks minor league basketball players.

The interesting thing about this deal is Cassell's expiring contract. So that Raps would land Mags and Kaman and have more cash this offseason to try to make a splash.

I think it's interesting to note that Doug who has seemed to be falling off the Bargnani bandwagon for the past while, wouldn't trade Bargnani for Kaman. I also think it's interesting to note that he believes Bargnani will be a starting centre for a high seeded playoff team. This isn't anything earth shattering and Doug may just be covering his ass but I think Raptors' fans should take a step back and put things into perspective.

yup he's the one i voted for in an earlier thread when tj suffered his injury

pure point guard with experience, a lot better than whatever dmart is.
