The Raptors ARE SOFT!!!!!

Post#1 » by TicaL0 » Sat Jan 19, 2008 9:40 am

...so that makes it AT LEAST twice this year that the Raptors have been physically disrespected by a member of the opposing team and had NO ONE get in the grill of the opponent!!!

TJ FORD .. ATLANTA ... NOTHING.. SMITCH is the only one out on the floor defeding his boy...

AJohnson elbows Calderon... ATLANTA... and NO ONE does or says ANYTHING .. watch the footage... NO ONE MOVES ...

the last time anyone did anythign was when TJ was on the floor...i don't remember who it was but get GOT RIGHT in someones face defending his teammates...

The raps are a good team but ridiculously soft...i HOPE SMITCH gets on em for that...

maybe THATS WHY TJ keeps getting hit so hard... opponents aren't scared of the consequences... how often do you see a player taking a HARD SHOT at the PISTONS or a team led by SHAQ-FU?

COLANGELO... if you read REALGM ... get us a modern day OAKLEY or AD even....

SIDENOTE: .... I can see an ATLANTA ..TORONTO Rivalry happening... VC will always be a rival but gone are the RAPS vs KNICKS days... time for a NEW rival. With the ford/horford, calderon/johnson history... and the HARD HARD fouls laid out today by the HAWKS... i can see things escalating to a FUED... .. Tj's first game back vs ATL??!?! Imagine the emotions there!!

Calm down. Go to bed.

Too bad Chris didn't chase Anthony Johnson all the way to the locker room, and get himself ejected too.

And for your information the Raptors did respond. Not by pretending to be thugs and confronting a guy and pretending like they're going to do something; but by their play on the court. They didn't shy away from contact, and kept taking it into the paint.

But if you think ATL's version of being "tough" is better, then fine. They can be as tough as they want, we'll still win the ball game in the end.

You're right, Parker and Bosh should have thrown punches and get ejected.

it really wasn't that bad of a foul. no one seemed to see it by the looks of the crowd, and players on both teams.

when i saw the replay, i thought wtf is chuck complaining about? even AP said in the halftime interview that he didn't see it.

how can you react to something you did not see?

^ sometime it is. I didn't mind how we responded this game though . Johnson was quickly ejected , s o what were they going to do. I've been one of the biggest critics about this stuff, and let's be real here. A lot of it is on Bosh! He's the leader, that character flows from him. He's been playing great, he is what he is. Take or leave it, I take it. If he had that alpha mean streak he may never have the loyalty to stay in Toronto so take the good traits with the the lack of bad traits I guess. Still I think it's an issue we have to shore up, especially come play off time. We scare no one in a playoff series right now, IMO. That's fine though, it's better when they don't see you coming.

Atlanta would have loved if we retaliated, perhaps taking one of our decent players out of the game, while they only had to sacrifice crap-ass Anthony Johnson.

Please stop comparing NBA with the stupid puckhead "matcho" toughness...

When are you kids going to get that (Please Use More Appropriate Word) NHL hockey fights are not much different than WWF show fights.
The stupid fights are there to keep the short attention span fans in their seats.

PS: BTW, I love real fights done in a proper environment by real fighters like MMA athletes, not wanna be tough/enforcer hockey players.

You look to beat a team on the score board. No point loosing a game to a team thats not doing to bad and mite be a contender for the last playoff spot. You see that you have a chance beat him on the score board beat them with your D frustrated them to Shi..

Dont throw away the game because you cant channel your anger... Thats stupid dont even worry about Soft.. Bargniani is SOFT.

Actually, I think it makes us a tough team, mentally. It is very easy to let your emotions have the best of you and resort to violent behavior. What we did was a great example of what a tough team should do: channel the frustration and use it to play ball. Doing that is being tough. Retaliating in a stupid way and get ejected/supended is just weak.
