Toronto/Boston/Phoenix in the hunt for Damon Stoudamire

Just read this blurb from Rotoworld. First that I've heard of this

ESPN's Chris Sheridan reported on Saturday that the Memphis Grizzlies' and disgruntled point guard Damon Stoudamire are close to agreeing on a buy-out of his contract, which would make him a free agent.

The Celtics and Suns are thought to be interested in Stoudamire's services, though the Heat, Raptors and Nuggets have also been mentioned in trade rumors. Whether he's bought-out or traded, Stoudamire should have a new jersey in the very near future, and could end up with some value.

Doug Smith has tossed his name out there a couple times, but it was nothing more than pure speculation (as far as I know).

I'm sure he'd rather sign with the Celtics. He'd be relegated to the end of the bench once T.J. Ford returned.

If they could sign him for cheap without giving anything up he would certainly be an upgrade over Dixon and Martin. This would free the Raptors up to trade Dixon and Graham for some rebounding help. It would be interesting to see how the fans react to the return of Mighty Mouse.

Would be nice to bring him back. Although I don't know if he would want to come here thinking that once TJ comes back he would not be getting many minutes.

The thing that worries me is if there's any fuel to the Damon Stoudamire rumour.

Cause if there is..Maybe it means that TJ's season might be in jeopardy?

Damn, so we actually discussed trade possibilities with The Grizz.

Wonder what we were offering?

Yeah, Boston seems like a no-brainer destination - especially if it's his choice of where to go after a buyout. That's where I'd want to go.

Damon's been hobbled by leg injuries these last couple of years. He will not fit the faster paced style of the raptors. I think that's why he's on the outs in Memphis, who's trying to play a faster pace.

Pass.

Don't fret. I'm sure it's some of our spare parts ala Dixon or Graham.

Damon Liked Toronto, he's been quoted in hind sight as regretting leaving for the Jail Blazers . . . So either he's likely to come as free agent or in certain lights Toronto can look good to Americans =0

if he's bought out, no way he's going for toronto. i was really hoping for him to be traded here for spare parts.

We're 27th in the league in pace, ahead of just San Antonio, Portland and Detroit. We're probably only getting slower with Jose. We don't play fast at all.

Boston should be #1 on his list. I mean come on...Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett? Thats a championship contending team. Stoudamire going there just makes them better.

I'll plug this in this thread.

The Raptors remain very much alive in the hunt to obtain Damon Stoudamire.

Someone Who Knows confirms that Toronto joins Boston and Phoenix are the likely locations for Mighty Mouse if he engineers a buyout of his contract from the Memphis Grizzlies.

Now, before you begin searching the remainder bins for Airborne, be advised that Boston
