what does this team needs at the other half of the season???
from watching them play the first half of the season.....this team really does need some rebounding.....bosh moon and delfino are the closest ones to..come to thiink of it rasho gets some boards too but he gets less minutes that the other big men with the exception of bosh.....dont get me wrong but humphries has been steppin up.....but from what i see calderon is lookin to have a better job rebounding than bargnani.....let the assumption begin!!!
go raps go!!!!
go raps go!!!!

Raptors Needs:
- Tough Rebounding/Shotlblocking Big Man (ie. Foster, Dalembert, K. Thomas)
- Premier Slashing Wing Player (Maggette, Salmons)
- 3rd PG (Livingston?, Stoudemire?)
Just put down some names that might be attainable. Of course, these are bigger names, whereas a more under the radar guy could help.
I was actually interested in Sefolosha in Chicago, but he's been playing extremely well since Hinrich went down which seems to be restoring faith.

You know, I would really consider this. The problem is, he instantly becomes the most vocal person on the team, I would think, and that would be disruptive to our squad of nice guys. Not to mention a foreseeable event in which Sam tries to 'break' Artest, with a similarly foreseeable conclusion to such an event.
So in the end, not good for the team. He'd be great for us if someone cut off his tongue and put him in a straight jacket if Sam has any 'breaking' to do.

Artest is still a head case.
Did anyone see him blowing kisses to the crowd in Detroit after each basket he scored??? Wtf??? I was expecting another riot.

in more ways than one.
Obviously Artest has his shortcomings, but who doesn't.
Arguably the best one on one defender in the league, right now. One of the greatest defensive players of his era (still relatively young, with many good years left ahead of him), and he's incredibly versatile. Which other player in the league can you tell to go effectively guard the opposition's best 1,2,3 and 4? And he's no slouch offensively either, and guess what he's available!

We all know Artest is a great player but Sheed and Jackson have seem to have turned the corner with their lives. No trouble except with the refs in a game in quite a while.
Artest has missed games this year for off court issues. If he could go a couple of years with out these issue fine but then again if he does this Sactown would want him more. It is a tough call.

Trilogy you are right on with this. I would put the wing first, big man and then 3rd PG because we need a consistent scorer 75% of the time. We have too many players that do well only 50% of have 5 game slumps and then 5 games red hot.

2 Needs for a chance at 50 wins
1st Need: TJ Ford back healthy and operating at 85 to 90% minimum.
Probability: Most likely we see TJ by the third week of February. Best case scenario is he gets on track by mid March. That should give us a full month with 2 solid PG playing up to par. Obviously, TJ back will increase the level of play from the bench as well as give us our 2nd best weapon, a 2headed PG machine.
Worst case scenario is TJ is apprehensive and never fully gets back on track before season end. Hopefully the time off has helped him and he can carry some major loads at the 1 spot and allow Jose to recharge before playoffs.
Need: Andrea to return to his 15 pnts, 5reb game before the end of February
Probability: Even though some have given up on our very young 7ftr I truly believe he gets it going by this time and will hit full stride by playoffs. Losses to Portland, Sonics and Philly are games that a strong Andrea would probably have made the difference.
Without these 2 ingredients we will remain a 41 to 43 win team. If we can get both ingredients back and operational by February end, this team has a shot at 50 but should get 45-48 wins
All in all, we are sitting just fine and there isn't any need to knee jerk a trade or overpay for a banger. This team realizes that if they ride this storm out, remain around .500, they are doing just fine. More importantly, they learnt last season that coming together in January isn't as important as coming together in March/April. We peaked last season to early and it cost us. This season we might get all the pieces, maybe even a Garbo back before April and maybe, just maybe, we hit that level going into the playoffs. That's what really counts here.

I would love to see a minor deal for Sam Cassell using Dixon's expiring deal. I'm not sure if the Clippers do that, but I've read reports that they're considering a buyout, so why not?
He could back up the point until Ford returns and then get some time at off-guard, give us a bit of experience and mental toughness.
On a larger scale, I'll second our need for a tough, shot-blocking, rebounding big man and a slashing 3. I don't see the slasher happening until the off-season at the earliest, but I could see a deal for a big man perhaps going down.
The only problem is that if Mitchell gets a real 5, Bargnani will get even fewer minutes, and fewer chances to validate his selection and develop. I'm not sure if Colangelo would do that.
