So, does Bosh make the All-Star team now?

In light of his recent scoring tear, do you guys think he's improved his chances enough to make the team over the likes of other forwards (ie. Antawn Jamison)?
I remember earlier people were saying that Jamison would take Bosh's spot because he was having a 20-10 season and the statistics generally favoured Jamison.
But now, Bosh has raised his scoring average to 22.2 ppg, which is higher than Jamison's, although his is still grabbing about 1 1/2 less boards per game.
Overall, Bosh has a higher FG%, higher FT%, more PPG, more APG, more steals, more blocks and also more turnovers than Jamison.
Has CB4 guaranteed himself a spot of the East team with his play of late?

Of course he has. I don't even think it is in question (plus, he can make it as the East's second centre if they feel like it. He plays more then enough at the 5 to warrant it, and I'd say he's the second best centre in the East this season, 2nd best PF. How can he not be in?)

You can bet that the "expert" Bosh haters on ESPN, etc. are praying that the Raps go into the All Star break sub-500 so they can harp on the fact that Bosh's team is under 500, thus making him an unwarranted selection.

Just like that douche with the whiny voice complaining that Bosh's video -- ALONE -- will get him into the ASG.

sportsline has him ranked #1 PF in the league, just ahead of Boozer and ahead of KG.

His play could have gone to hell after he made that video and I think he would have been selected at that point just for the pure entertainment value of talking to Bubba. Would Bubba go to the ASG if Bosh wasn't there...I don't think so.

But yeah, maybe this actually should be something to give Chris even more credit. Since he made the video, he has stepped up his game. Making that video was essentially calling out "Hey, I'm good, look at me". Even if it wasn't intended to be that kind of video, it essentially was the equivalent to Babe Ruth pointing to the bleachers and then hitting a home run. He made his little video, and then backed up his play by performing at an elite level.

Statistically Bosh is showing that, at least for short periods of time, he can put up MVP style numbers. Not that he would be an MVP, or that his entire game is worthy of that distinction, but he is showing that he can score and rebound at that level on a consistent basis. Just look at the Philly game. He barely touched the ball through the first three quarters, and he still managed to score 25 points.

Simple fact is, the Raptors are a good team and Bosh is above and beyond the best player on a good team. That to me should get you into an all-star game. The Raptors strength is their team depth, but Bosh is an elite player performing at that level. Without Garnett I think he should still be starting in the East despite some nice seasons from some other players, so yeah, I think its a no-doubter that he is at the ASG.

He is a LOCK.

He is the TOP vote getter after the starting line up for Forwards:
Kevin Garnett (Boston) 1,756,251;
LeBron James (Cleveland) 1,564,974;
Chris Bosh (Toronto) 516,669;
Paul Pierce (Boston) 411,231;
Yi Jianlian (Milwaukee) 342,669;
Caron Butler (Washington) 213,924;
Hedo Turkoglu (Orlando)

And after Dwight Howard, no one is better than Bosh and/nor has close to the amount of votes, for Centers:
Shaquille O'Neal (Miami) 701,253;
Rasheed Wallace (Detroit) 190,684;
Ben Wallace (Chicago) 172,147;

After Dwight and KG and LeBron (starting line up) he is the TOP choice for EITHER a reserve Forward or reserve Center.

With his Eastern Conference player of the week and his numbers over the last 5 games , he'll make it. He deserves it alot.

I don't know what carries more weight when coaches make all-star selections, but certainly it's gotta be more than just numbers. bosh doesn't have a caron butler to share the offensive load. he's the clear-cut leader on his team, which is playing very well lately. also, he's the more popular of the two players, which probably shouldn't be that important a factor. i think he deserves to be in the game, and i think he will be in the game...i think jose will get snubbed this year, but will one be there one day...

you could have made an argument about a month ago why Bosh might not make it, but his play in recent weeks has pretty much solidified his spot ...

Do you think some coaches may be compelled to put Shaq there, out of respect for his career?

As for Shaq.....unless he gets voted in he has no chance to get in.

Bosh on the other with his play in the last 3 weeks is a shoe in.

Aside from Skip Bayless, the commentators I've seen on ESPN love Bosh and have nothing but great things to say about his game. Opposition broadcasters have also universally praised his play this year.

I would not in any way agree that there is any ill will directed towards Chris from members of the US media, or that his inclusion in the All-Star squad would be considered unwarranted.

Bosh's selection will be accepted without argument.
