NBA adds H-O-R-S-E to All-Star weekend

Fans who have long since grown bored of dunk- and three-point competitions will be pleased by the news that the NBA has decided to add a game of H-O-R-S-E to its All-Star weekend in February.

According to insider Henry Abbot, it won't be NBA players but D-leaguers who play the game. Which is not to say it won't be good. Trick shots would seem to be for the youngsters, not something the veterans of the NBA spend a lot of time working on. Not most of them anyway:

are you kidding me?

I wouldn't mind actually... I've always felt All-Star saturday was too short and getting old... who knows, this might spice up things a little and be more entertaining than we thought...

I wish they could somehow involve NCAA players in the all-star saturday stuff, or maybe an NCAA vs Rookie game... OJ Mayo and Derrick Rose against Durant and Yi?

Not a surprise. Stern said he was interested in having a Horse competition last year.

Too bad NBA players aren't in this. Guys like Nash would probably put on a show.

Sheed is a hilarious...
For sure, this event loses credibility because there are no nba players. I guess the league is just tryin' to market their D-leaguers :nonono:

I expect this to be taped and heavily edited... no one will sit through hours of missed shots by no name players.

All-Star weekend is garbage these days...it's worth trying something new.

Last years All-Star weekend (including the game) has to be one of the least appealing in recent memory.

They're trying to improve NBA allstar weekend so they bring in a D league compettition? WTF? If you're gonna have HORSE at least make sure the superstars or good young players are gonna participate. No ones interested in watching Omar Cook make a reverse layup.

Could be interesting... But would have loved it, if it was NBA players.

so to quote gp2015

I predict a lot of missed shots.

Oh yeah, and where the hell are they gonna fit this into the lineup? People in the crowd are gonna be like WTF is going on? This is gonna look so out of place, half the viewing audience will turn it off if its in the middle of the festivities.

Bill Simmons came up with this idea years ago.

You take the all-star game way too seriously.

hardly all-STARS if they allow Dleaguers to be in it.
