Hey guys.. seems like he's riding the pine in Atlanta and has had a verbal altercation with Woodsen recently after he was pulled out of a game. He is young, decent rebounder, has got decent offensive abilities and a very decent 4 million per contract.

Any chance he'd fit in here with the raps?

I would take him or slumlord if we could get them for cheap.

i really like ZaZA, he's a skilled big man that can shoot, bang a little and IMO is one tough dude, plus getting to hear Jack say his name is pretty ill too

Pachulia is an absolute nightmare on the defensive end, and while a reasonable scorer and rebounder (probably a shade below average in both categories), he's not what we need, IMO. Maybe if the Hawks wanted the storied Dixon/Baston package, but the last thing they need is another shoot-first player under 6'3".

We have an over abundance of "skilled" players who shoot. Yes he can bang a little. Very little.

Right now we need tough, athletic players to boost the physical aspect of the team defensively, and to bring offense that isn't 95% jum-shots.

I remember watching ATL last year and some cat who was completely loaded kept screaming for Zaza to hit the ref with his purse.

I believe I was the only person in my section who got the joke.

I would love him on this team, but if the Hawks move him it will definitely be in a package that hopes to move Speedy's deal too... that is probably too high a price to absorb.

I'm a fan of ZaZa's game. He rebounds more then the Avg Euro big. He is still soft, but that is the new NBA game.

I think Zaza would be a better fit after Rasho leaves.

I firmly believe he'll be a good piece to have. I am sure he can be a banger and knows how to play within himself (unlike Hump). He's not that bad of a man to man defender. Not a shotblocker though. I'd take him if he can be had for cheap (knowing Atlanta, they'd probably offload him for an expiring).

He can rebound and shoot, and he's on a reasonable contract. I'm sure Bryan has some interest.

It really sounds like Bryan didn't want Varejao because he can't shoot.. not necessarily a guy we'd want on the floor in the crunch, and we'd have to spend quite a bit to keep him.

Zaza sounds up Bryan's alley. I'd welcome him aboard and to board.

I admit to being a bit of a dukie but what's the objection to sheldon williams? he's not doing much in Atlanta but he's a dedicated rebounder and a good defender.

It's important to make the distinction between 'can shoot' and 'should shoot'. Zaza certainly does the former, but he has always been a very low percentage jumpshooter: his career high eFG% on jumpers was .385, and that was three seasons ago. And the red flag, for me, is that he has gotten more perimeter-oriented even though his outside shot has not improved.

Again, I'd take him if we were giving up virtually nothing, but he's not someone worth our parting with an asset.

I like Zaza, he played pretty well for atl last yr, I dunno why guys like Solomon Jones is gettin playin time over him

I've been kind of interested in Joel Pryzbilla. He's one of the better post defenders in the league. Been one of the better rebounders in the league this year, and can bang in the paint. Only playing 20 minutes /game and oden coming in next year I wonder if we could pick him up.

Im kinda intimidated to start my own thread on this board, but what do you guys think about Kurt Thomas. From the little i've seen from him over the years, he seems to be the type of big man were looking for. He's a decent defender and rebounder, and not completely useless on offence. He's been around a long time and would probably be a really good influence on our young bigs.

His contract is expiring this year, and while we may not have what it takes to get him from seattle this year, perhaps we could talk him into a contract next year...he cant be worse than Martin.

Thomas would be a terrific fit here, and he's one of the better vet PF/Cs that could conceivably be on the market. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what sort of deal we could throw together...Seattle would rather allow his contract to expire than take back a bunch of salary, and most of our $2-4m contracts are tied to older players.

good player. would help this year, no doubt. my only objection to him is I think we need long-term help, and he's rather expensive as a stop-gap.

Atlanta isn't going to give up on Sheldon Williams yet. He is a 2nd year player. Was a great shot blocker in College. Sheldon was getting time last season but the better players is getting that time now and that is Al Horford.
