just wondering? the celtics are on pace to possibly win 70+ games which is to me quite remarkable. if the celtics do win 70+ i cant see how they will not also win the championship (barring injury). Just wondering which team was the last to accomplish the feat and did they go on to win the championship? do u guys think that sort of regular season outcome has a psychological affect on the playoff opponents. I mean it isn't impossible to defeat the best team in the nba in the playoffs- See Golden State, but facing a 70+ win team in the playoffs would just come across to me as overwhelming
on a side note..i'd love for the celtics to win 70+ because i bet on the underdogs (with my friends of course)

I will give you a hint. Only one team has done it in the 1990's, and the Celtics are long shots to get 70 this year, likely wont happen.

Meh, we beat that team that year.

Wow, maybe I'm showing my age, but I'm kinda surprised some don't know history from only 12 years ago.
96 Bulls, 72-10.

Man...that 70 win Bulls squad was crazy. No matter how much they were down at the half. They would just go on these crazy 3rd quarter runs and just take over they game.
Man....good times.

There's no need to ridicule the guy.
There's only been one 70 win team, the 95-96 Bulls who won 72. The 71-72 Lakers won 69 games, including 33 in a row at one point.

That's what I was thinking, seems like yesterday. That's the season they went 40-1 at home and that home loss came to Glen Rice and the Hornets in the last or second last game of the season. I remember Phil Jackson was pissed.

Yeah, that was awesome. For some reason the Raptors wore uniforms that said BULLS across the front that season and played home games in Chicago.

Damon went OFF from downtown in that game. Everyone was on fire actually. And yet MJ almost won the game at the buzzer by BANKING IN A JUMPER FROM THE RIGHT CORNER. Ah the good old days.

I understand the thread title was one question but there were multiple topics in the original post to be explored. Maybe you should post in this thread if you want to give your opinion on whether the celtics will win 70+ games this season or not, and if it will have any affect on them winning the championship. If you choose not to, then my suggestion would be to:
1) not open the thread at all if you feel your opinion is not needed
or
2) do not post after you've read the original post

1000th! Post

:D:D:D:D
anyway, Boston has a chance to win 70 if Garnett doesnt run out of gas and doesnt injure himself, same with RayRay

You want the C's to win 70 games because they're
underdogs? Did I miss something?
