Espn says damon is intrigued by the idea of coming back to Toronto. What do you guys think of bringing back mighty mouse to Toronto?

GRRRRRR-EAT !
Better than Dixon running the point. With TJ back....he won't get much playing time. Unless we put him at SG...in which we'll get burned on the defensive end.

If we sign Damon, its almost guaranteed that Ford isn't coming back this season.

That's exactly my thought process as well. I don't see why Damon would consider coming to Toronto when he can sign with Boston. Not only would he have more chance of a ring in the next couple of years, but he'll get more PT in crunch time and be a major contributor.
Also, does anyone know what kind of contract Stoudamire can sign? Since it's not the offseason anymore, can a team who didn't use an MLE, use it?

Sources say, if he does become a free agent, Boston remains the A-1 favorite to sign Stoudamire and add much-needed depth to its backcourt.
I tend to agree with much of the sentiment in this thread, a soon to be free agent wants to raise his value and the best way to do that is to keep as many options open as possible.

Far as I know he is still under contract with Memphis so a trade may happen before a buyout does and Toronto might be the partner.

If he returns I just hope we have a retro jersey night for his first game back in Toronto. I bet he would get a pretty good crowd response returning to Toronto.

he is going to sign for the minimum...whats there to drive up? He is getting bought out, so vet minimum is all he'll get.

It might be nice, but I'm sure he wants to be a part of a great team, and we're up and coming, but not great surefire contenders. Boston is. Not only that, I'm sure he would want some PT, and that isn't going to happen when TJ is back.

Joey + Dixon for Mighty Mouse? Would Memphis do it?

If they are talking buy out,
Dixon may be enough

Joey+Dixon or Baston+Dixon both work in the trade checker and to be honest it makes no sense for Memphis to pay him his full contract to walk when they can get even a trade like we can offer which sends them an expiring and a player that can eeither help them or they can buyout for half the price.
Memphis will look to trade him before they buy him out

In which case Celtics are the best bet.

Yes that would be perfect.

If he is being bought out no trade is necessary and would be foolish. I still think this is the agent talking and trying to set up the most favourable situation for him ... in Boston.
