Pretty good read. The guy seems really pissed at Kidd getting the votes.

But these points are all moot. He's going to get in, nobody on the TNT set will raise a hackle tonight (in his column trumpeting Kidd for an All-Star nod, Kenny Smith pointed out that Jason "single-handedly gave Team USA credibility again." International competition. Does that mean Andrei Kirilenko gets a nod after his dominant play last summer?), and Calderon will just have to deal with it.
It doesn't make it right, though. It doesn't make it right.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jose doesn't make it, because ALL STAR Game is always about "the name", Every year they choose that 1 non-known person. They are going to give the RESPECT to the Vets.... Its always been that way it will probably never change.

Well it would work against us in two ways for him to actually get an inivte (as much as I want him to get one)
A) it would really drive up the cost of re-signing him.
B) I can't help but wonder what kind of reaction TJ would have to it. I think it would make him somewhat depressed, actually, knowing that it could have been him.

Well, in all fairness, J-Kidd destroyed us in the playoffs last year. On that merit alone, I think he deserves to go. He's one of the all time great PG's.
Calderon's still a young guy, he'll have his chances.

Calderon is the new kid in PG town, Kidd is the mayor of PG town. The statistical comparison between the two is amazing, Jose is really doing a good job for us.

This guy scouted them, and thinks Jason Kidd is a "good defender", and Calderon is a "good defenedr" lol.
I want Calderon in the ASG just so I can see Calderon run a half court set.

I never said J-kidd doesn't deserves to go. I think he should be there way before Wade, because being on the Nets is really killing him. But I was just explaining things to people that where wondering Why Jose wouldn't make.
I said Vets or the Names always get first dips. Its just the way ALL STAR works.

I've been watching quite a bit of New Jersey games and Kidd doesn't have that drive in him to be better. He's your floor general and his team is getting killed as of late. You have the big 3 in Jersey and the team has a record of 18-23.
Kidd's triple double is doing nothing for his team. The record speaks for itself. If your point guard has more rebounds than your centre, to me the team has problems. Plus, Kidd jacks 3s that are bricks and he knows where his shot is going to be to get the rebound.

I really don't care too much if he goes or no. I'll cheer for him if he is called, but I prefer to watch Jose in any Raptor's game rather than in the stupid ASG

For all those ridiculing the author's calling Jose a "good defender" he did back it up with an opponent PG PER comparison:
Kidd 16.2
Jose 17.8
So it's not that ridiculous

Maybe Kidd isn't the defender he used to be. But Calderon is NOT a good defender, by any stretch of the imagination.
