DON'T vote for Pedro...I mean Jose

I find it interesting how the American media has just catapulted Jose to All-Star status, where a month ago, most writers didn't even know of his existence. It's almost as if some NBA GM paid some newspaper boys to overhype Jose in an attempt to sign the Spaniard in the offseason.
At the beginning of the season, many would agree that Jose was roughly an MLE salary range player. Now, most would agree that he is worth around TJ's salary at $8 million per, with some believing he can sign for $10+ elsewhere.
If Jose makes the All-Star game, he will most definitely be able to command AT LEAST $9+ million per season. I'm all for voting our Raps into the All-Star game, but I would rather vote Jose in next season, after we've secured his signature.
BC lost Joe Johnson in a similar situation with Atlanta years ago, and although he did get decent value back in a sign and trade, Joe Johnson has continued to grow to an All-Star level.
Coincidentally, BC may have to face the pointguard-starved, and sub-salary cap, Atlanta Hawks once again, this offseason, for Jose's signature.

Why be so selfish? I'll still vote for the guy. He deserves the recognition.

That's going a little far there. I guarantee you there were no writers in the league who didn't know about him. He has been touted as a great PG for much longer than just this season.
Don't you remember all the "Best backup PG in the league" talk from last season? It wasn't just the Toronto beats saying it.

That's selfish. If he makes it I think it'll become a little more clear who the starting point guard for this club is. I love having both, I'm not saying trade TJ or anything, because we need both to change the pace. But if need be I'd pay Jose more than TJ is making [not by much, but I'd say he's worth more to this team than TJ is.]

He was proclaimed by many writers at the beginning of LAST year as the best backup PG in the NBA. Jose has been on the radar for many of the informed and intelligent US sports writers for the last two seasons, at least.

Even if he goes, not like he'll be able to showcase his A-Game either.

I don't think the thread will go anywhere, as most of the posts are just quotes from the second poster, and I think it will continue to be that way. Sorry.
