O/T - Trivia - Back to Backs

Post#1 » by ruckus » Fri Jan 25, 2008 7:17 pm

This week, the Leafs and Capitals played back to backs. Next week, the Raps and the Wizards play back to backs. 2 cities from 2 leagues playing back to backs within 8 days. Is this a common occurance? I can't recall this ever happening before.

If you feel this is too trivial, lock it up.

Didn't it happen with Philadelphia one year where the Leafs/Flyers were in Philly then Toronto, and vice-versa for the Raps/76ers?

There was a home and home against the Celtics in the 2003-04 season and the Leafs faced up against the Bruins in a home and home about a week after so it happens with teams usually.

Earlier this year, the Raps were playing the Nets at the Izod Center at East Rutherford, New Jersey. At exactly the same time we tipped off, the Leafs and Devils dropped the puck at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. You won't see that often since most of the time the NHL and NBA team play in the same arena.

it seems to be happening with surprising frequency this year. i notice a lot of Leaf/Raptor same-night matchups.

strange...but I guess that you know that, if the Raps are on the road, the ACC is free and vice versa with opposing teams
