Must have ran over Smitch's dog or something. You're right, it is a big weird that he hasn't played alot, although, I understand against the Celtics, he would get abused by KG.

You have to choose Rasho or Hump. I think Rasho helps out Andrea.

It always happens.. Hump starts thinking he's "the man" and Mitchell puts him in his place.

Because he sucks.. watch his play during the Boston game and cry.

Humphries isn't playing more because hes inconsistent and because he has no offensive game.

If Humphries plays 35 minutes, his stats would be 15/10.

smitch experimented with the lineup a lot the first few months. Great teams don't play a 10 man rotation, more like 7 + 1other with basically scrap minutes (see pheonix). Bottom line, in close games, all of are starters at this point of the season should be playing 35+ minutes minimum a games. The NBA is too talented, good teams eat **** players alive. Espeically guys who should be all rebounding & hustle, but for some reason like to chuck

And some players getting too many minutes get hurt. Some in the current season. Some in one or two seasons later. Nothing the matter with a short bench, but if you can, it is better to delay it as far down the road as you can.

because the raptors found out that while it's nice to have a deep bench, you win more games by having your top 7-8 players playing almost all of the minutes.

If Hump is willing to accept his role where he brings in the energy and bangs, he will get a ton of minutes. Unfortunately, he thinks he's on the floor to chuck.

I really don't know what would be going on if Garbo was fully healthy this season. I hope Bryan realizes that Mitchell and this team cannot go 12 deep. Mitchell has a habit of using players a lot some weeks and then not at all the next. Can't really do that with most players. We have a really deep bench that's pretty hard to manage. Bryan should definitely be looking to shorten yet strengthen our bench.

And what's worse, he thinks he has an offensive game and forces up bad shots. He needs to concentrate on being an energy guy, and try for more rebounds.

This is an easy question to answer. During December, he stepped up big and the main driver was more playing time stolen from a struggling Bargs. Now Bargs has somewhat better, he has been regulated back tonthe normal inconsistant and insignificant minutes.

Humphries conflicts with our offense. When you watch him on the floor, it seems like our entire offense stops working properly.

umm...thing is this year...the bad shots he took last year are going in most the time this year.
he took 600+ jumpshots a day over the summer and it's paid off. even in boston he hit a above foul line jump shot.
he isnt playing more cuz smitch doesnt feel like it....just like smitch feels like andrea starting.
u guys are wrong about his chucking tho, this year...most of the shots he takes are the ones he knows he'll hit, once in a while he'll get carried away and take a fade-away and it has gone in a couple of times this year as well...but its not the offense smitch likes to have generated.

Totally agree. The 10-12 man depth is nice in theory, and helps when injuries strike, but in the playoffs a stronger 7-8 man rotation is what's needed.
Humphries may be shooting better as some said, but it's also true he doesn't fit in the offense so well - he's a bit of a ball-stopper.

Good points. I agree.
Hump is a nice player to have off the bench but he shouldn't get PT at the expense of losing Rasho's interior D or hurting the development of a recently selected number 1 overall pick.
Actually, I think the Raps need to make a deadline deal to "trim the fat" and improve their 7-8 man rotation.

We really, really, really need Rasho in there for 15-20 minutes a game. Against Atlanta, Boston and again last night, he was a difference maker in the 2nd quarter.
It's great that Rasho is doing well coming off the bench lately, because he was the one who suggested to Sam that that he start earlier this season. We then went back to Bargs coming off the bench in an attempt to recreate the magic formula from last year. Then Hump started earning the right to come off the bench earlier than Bargs, whose confidence level started drilling through the hardwood.
Hump is still an intriguing young prospect, and ideally we would be willing to allow him to get comfortable shooting so that he could find his range. He was killer in the home game against the Rockets, for instance. But not right now. We can't afford to break two prospects at once into the regular rotation. Fortunately, we've got Kris for another few years.
